Tackling issues come back to life and Navy keeps it close throughout. ND wins on a 45 yard FG with time expiring.

The game isn't even really that close, as the solid learnings that we saw against GT and partly Navy last year continue into a new year, and Dru Tranquill once again makes the triple-option offense his bitch.

Navy will keep it close early as they pull some new tricks out to counter what Mad Scientist Bob Elliott works on in the Laboratory, but eventually they will run out of curveballs, and the ND defense will bottle things up pretty well.

The ND offense keeps some consistency together in the second half, and ND pulls away for a convincing win that never really felt to be in doubt, even when the game was kind of close in the first half.

The game could definitely go either way and will probably come down to the final possession. I'm feeling something like the Irish keeping Navy out of the end zone (needing more than a FG) as time expires.

I've been wrong a lot this season, but I think we will win this one. It will be tough as always because Navy never gives up and we will probably take the gas off/collapse if we either get ahead or if we fall behind. We were all over Navy last year when Tillery was controlling the A gap. When he went out/got banged up I think things got a little dicey. This year Jarron is healthy though, and playing his best football. I think we eliminate the dive play on the strength of Jarron, which allows us to attack the edge to get after the QB/RB. I'm hoping that's what happens anyway.

The only thing that worries me is we're going to rely too much on our passing game here. It seems like the teams that have beaten Navy or come close this year have gashed them on the ground. I don't think our running game has been consistent enough to do that this year, but if there was ever a time to flex our muscle and play power football, this is the week.

The D-line being healthy is huge here. Jones,Rochelle, tillery are going to blow the line up. Our line backers are so freaking athletic if the stay contained and not biting it will let the db's deal with the pass that Navy has started. I think Dexter breaks a big run like GAIII did across the waters a few seasons ago.

I have seen the Navy offense stymie much better ND defenses than this year's team, but I think ND pulls off a good one and comes away with the W. I just hope we can get through this game without any major injuries. This game always seems to see at least one or two big injuries.

I haven't watched enough to know anything about this year's Navy offense though.... that's the thing.

Of the last 5 meetings, all Irish victories, only one was a single digit win. The others were 42, 40, 10, and 17. Navy tends to play ND tough but the Irish eventually gets the stops and scores relatively at will.

I think that trend continues. Too many weapons for the Midshipmen to handle.

Navy has a well rated offense, but the worst defense ND has seen all year (and that's sorta saying something). If ND is aggressive on offense and doesn't settle for kicking field goals or punting on 4th & short they should win easily. Navy should not be able to keep ND under 42 points without ND making a lot of mistakes... ND's offense has been pretty poor since the Syracuse game, mainly on account of a wackadoodle scheme that doesn't push the ball down the field aggressively and abandons the run too much in favor of short passing. This is the game to get it back on track.

On defense, ND has shown over the past few years that they've figured it out. Hopefully they can show out that way again.

They're getting a lot of credit for a very fluky win over Houston. Their offense is very good... much better than Notre Dame's at the moment. There defense is literally worse than the BVG abomination which should be virtually impossible. If we don't score 42, it'll be shocking to me and it'll be because of a bad game plan and/or mistakes.

To build off this, my Fordham Rams put up 462 yards of offense on them. We should be able to score almost at will.

I see a big game from Tranquil and the LBs today against the option and the freshman play big in the secondary. Against Navy, it comes down to stops. I think 3 stops will do it.
