Aight so I went through all the info I could. I appreciate you taking the time to put all this together in a constructive way, so I gave it as much attention as I could in the middle of a work day:
Understood, and back at you.
1. It's funny that this is linked from Donald Trump's youtube channel where he says "Joe Biden's lies are legendary. As the last year has proved, he's still the same dishonest plagiarist he was 33 years ago." That is peak irony. I'm not going to defend plagiarism, but let's not pretend this is some high crime.
Doesn't matter where it's from if it's true. I get the irony but it's not wrong. As far as the plagiarism, no it's not a high crime, but speaks to his character. And he did it over, and over, and over again.
2. He has an honorary degree from them and has spoken there multiple times, so what we're really quibbling over is word choice "got started." He never said he attended there as an undergrad, etc. People just choose to interpret "got started" that way (which is fine) but if that's the standard you want to go to then I dunno where you even start with someone like Trump who can't compose a single sentence with correct syntax.
It's not just the HBCU stuff at all. He lied about his grades, his placement in class, etc. etc. Those weren't quibbles.
3. I don't have the time to go through all those videos right now... that's a lot of content lol... but I watched the first one that has five Biden "lies" and 1) they're quibbling over detained versus arrested. big deal. 2) they've already talked about this story at length, and it's not "made up" at all. it just has some details wrong. the guy in the video is intentionally distorting the situation and giving no context 3) he goes back to something from 1998 as proof of a "lie" even though it has no context to what he was talking about many years later specifically with Bush. The part about "I opposed the war immediately after it started" is definitely 100% a lie tho 4) this is again completely out of context trying to disingenuously play clips off of each other. It's a fact that he participated in the civil rights movement, the only question is the degree. The Washington Post gave him shit for embellishing his role there, but even Fox News admits that he participated in sit-ins for desegregation and participated in a picket for desegregation 5) the irony here is that The Intercept intentionally uses this one as an analogue to Trump lying about his academics -- so I'll leave it at this... if all the videos are intentionally slanted like that it's a total nothing burger.
Sorry man, the Mandela topic is full of lies and embellishment. I can bullet point it if you want. I can get specific on the civil rights stuff too, but in short, the guy paints himself like he walked the bridge in Selma lol. He participated in a few low profile things. And he keeps repeating stuff we all know didn't happen.
4. The Hunter Biden stuff is the biggest sham of all time. Everybody (including, ironically, Ron Johnson who just released the report) wanted that prosecutor gone. This was a global thing to be tougher on corruption. No investigation has proven a shred of malfeasance on Joe Biden's behalf. The Republican commissioned report even acknowledges that. The worst they could come up with was the opinion that Hunter Biden was "problematic" while acknowledging his position had
no impact on US policy. Don't talk about "swamp" when Trump is the swamp king with more criminal indictments in his administration than any President on record and enriching his own businesses/children in questionable ways.
I didn't even mention the prosecutor. So simple questions. Why do you think of all companies, Burisma gives Hunter a position and a bunch of money? Why do you think of all countries, China gives Hunter a butt load?
And sorry, but a WAPO opinion piece (I did not read, will if I have time tonight) is just not going to move the needle for me given all I've already read.
Again, not comparing Trump swamp to Biden swamp. The simple fact is, Biden is absolutely swamp.
5. Everyone knows about touchy Joe Biden. This doesn't really have anything to do with lying, but if we want to contrast it to Trump sexual conduct there's a difference between being "creepy" and what Trump has admitted to doing; has been accused of doing; and has made settlements for. Nevermind that he wishes sex trafficker Ghislaine Maxwell the best and people don't even bat an eye.
Nothing to do with lying. More to the creepy/disgusting label. Let's not forget creepy Joe is accused of doing something that Trump is slammed for saying (grabbing her by the xx) lol.
So my conclusion going through all that info is that Trump is still the worst. I don't think you can just say "well they're both turds so it doesn't matter." Biden lies are what you expect from a typical politician, Trump lies are at a never before seen level of crazy and dishonesty. And if there's a fact checker tomorrow night, you'll see more of the same -- incredible lies from Trump, typical issues from Biden.
Sorry man, you and I don't see it the same. I see tons of lies, a pattern of lies, repetition of the same lies, etc.. And that's on top of the embellishing and waffling.
Simple question, if Biden were a used car salesman, would you buy from him? You wouldn't. You wouldn't buy from Trump either. If you had to buy a car from one of them, that would really suck. Now let's say that you like GM cars and hate Fords, and I like Fords, and hate GMs. If Biden is selling GMs and Trump is selling Fords, you're probably buying from Biden. I like Fords, so I'm taking my chance buying from Trump. If Biden sold a Ford, I might buy from Biden, but he's not selling them, so it's not really even something I would begin to ponder.
