so i was at work last night doing the whole valet thing. This couple pulls up and the old man starts talking to me. Somehow we got on the subject of me being all about ND! Well, right before he walks in to join his wife......he goes, "Oh yah, I love ND. I went to school there when the Navy sent me up there!" I couldnt believe that! Small world!

that is cool. I wonder if he was sent there during the WWII era. That's when the Navy reportedly saved ND financially by using the University grounds for building &/or training (the precise facts escape me). Any way, that aid many years ago is why Notre Dame has agreed to play Navy for as long as they like. Talk about repaying a debt!

yah he said it was when Navy sent the Midshipmen there for school, he was one of the ones that got sent up!
