Pitching gives me hope.. That's what wins in October. If we get some production from the guys that have been hurt then I might be increase my optimism. Roster size increase down the stretch might be a huge advantage with the depth we're creating

I think Lombard Jnr has just set a record for most games in a row with at least one error.

CHRIS SALE
One of the most impressive pitching performances in recent memory. 11 Ks, 5 hits complete game shut out in which he threw his two hardest pitches since 2018!

As a side note, the game was 1-0 with the only run coming off of Drake Baldwin's leadoff HR on the first pitch he saw in the bottom of the 1st. That is only the second time a game winning HR was recorded on the first pitch of a 1-0 game. The other time happened in 1906.

No matter how the season ends, sweeping the Dodgers is always beautiful.

Looks like Judge is gone for the season. They obviously have to move him to DH next season. Play Rice at 1st and trade Garcia for an outfielder (or move Garcia to 2nd but word is he is terrible there).
Edit: the RF Seiya Suzuka (right hander) from the Cubs is a free agent in 2027. He would be a good fit.

My Braves are done before the season. AA did a terrible job of making sure we had respectable starting staff.

I don't really blame him for feeling that way. I wasn't necessarily a fan of the Weiss hire (it felt like Braves good ol boy club complacency) and the pitching staff was a huge unknown coming into the season. It's been an unknown basically all year as it's been a carousel of injuries, but somehow it's been the strength of the team.

I'll also happily eat crow on the WW hiring. He's been great all year.

Writing your team off for dead in the middle of May is a choice.

I agree. WW did fine I just wanted a different mentality.

I still think AA did a terrible job with the starting pitching out the gate. He went and got Mahle who has been huge for us down the stretch. Left field and SS were also abandoned by AA.

Mahle has been nails since we got him. From what I understand they had a trade in place for deGrom but he exercised his NTC to stay and miss the playoffs with the Rangers. They pivoted to Mahle and and that been a great get.

We're in now and the baseball playoffs are a crapshoot.

Mid 2021, I don't think anybody would've predicted that level of production from Baez over 5 years.

This trade looks like it could rank right up there with the Sandberg trade with the Phillies.

If I’m the Red Sox, there is no way I’m flying my team down to Tampa to play a worthless game in front of the playoffs. Cubs can have it.

If Verlander can last 3.2 innings in his final start today, he can double his IP for the year. How bout a no-hitter for old times' sake?
