This would be quite an interesting Vegas prop. I'm going to go out on a limb and say neither Alabama nor LSU runs the gauntlet unscathed and the SEC gets left out of the title game.

The title game ends up being Oklahoma/Texas/Texas A&M versus Oregon/Stanford and this pushes us to a playoff.

Then unfortunately I have to take the SEC. I think a #2-ranked, one-loss SEC team will play a #1-ranked, undefeated team from another conference and the SEC team will crush that #1 team. Probably Oklahoma. Sad but true.

the field, SEC has 2 national championship contenders and they both are in the same divison, also one is breaking in a new qb, and the other is going with a guy who the fanbase hasn't been sold on since he arrived on campus, and has a tendency for boneheaded plays. neither of these teams played in bcs bowls last year.

and the field has, oregon, stanford, wisconsin, oklahoma, texas am, fsu, vtech and of course ND, also wvu has a very good roster and may have an outside shot at running the table. not to mention boise st and tcu. 6 of those teams have their qb returning. two of which were heisman contenders all year and 1 who played in the championship game last year. you have the rose bowl champs & runner ups, orange bowl champs & runner ups. fiesta bowl champs etc.

sooo i think the field would be the wise choice. if i were laying money down

This is a highly likely scenario.

A&M, Oklahoma State, and Texas will be tough this year, not to mention Tech and Baylor.

I would say if you looked on paper before the game and look back even now, the non-SEC team looks the better team for at least three years running now.... and is 0-3...

the stars definately come together for that conference in title games, no doubt... even with that said I'm taking a plea of insanity and going with the field.

My take is simple. Since LSU is on probation already, and Alabama should be for doing almost the same thing OSU players did, the SEC shouldn't win the championship. In my eyes, it would be the same as if OSU got in the championship game and won.....but considering OSU's record against the SEC....highly unlikely. Anyhow, if the SEC wins, they would be in the same scumbag category as OSU and USC are to me. Cheaters don't deserve to grace the gridiron!
