It's awesome, period.
Great acting, great characters.
What else do you need? The show is spelling it out, and it's pretty easy to follow, actually.
Eh, I don't think I'd agree with it spelling it out. I think the third episode was an improvement in being easier to follow, but all of my friends that didn't read the comic are still pretty confused.
As far as the actors, I'm totally taken with Ruth Negga as Tulip even though she's rather different both from the physical depiction of the character as well as tonally (in the comics she's a little less hardened at the beginning). I like both Cooper and Gilgun as Jesse and Cassidy and think they'll both get stronger as the series progresses. Biggest distraction for me is their (Jesse and Tulip, but moreso Jesse) occasional slips in the Texas accent. As one reviewer commented, some of the accent work in this show makes Andrew Lincoln in the Walking Dead sound like Billy Bob Thornton.
All that being said, I like the direction its going and I hope wooly gives it another day in court down the road.
