So they're trying to capture the smells of South Bend, eh? Burnt ethanol and all? There are cheaper ways to smell like that.

Smell, Smell like ol' Notre Dame

Smell, Smell like ol' Notre Dame

Company plans to roll out Notre Dame cologne, perfume this fall - The Washington Post

SOUTH BEND, Ind. — Fighting Irish fans can smell, smell for old Notre Dame starting this fall.

Two companies, Cloudbreak Group and Steiner Collectibles, are pairing up to develop fragrances for the school, University of Notre Dame director of licensing Michael Low told the South Bend Tribune (Smells like team spirit - southbendtribune.com).

ND Gold Eau De Toilette for men and Lady Irish Eau De Parfum will be available this fall, with 3.4-ounce bottles expected to retail for $62, he said.

“The University of Notre Dame’s practice is to license fewer companies than most other universities, and we encourage our licensing partners to develop innovative products of high quality that are not commonly available in the marketplace,” he said in an email.

Other scented products will include women’s shower gel and body lotion; men’s hair and body wash; and aftershave balm, he said.

The university has previously licensed other lotions and sanitizers, but this is the first time the school has worked with a company whose sole focus is the development and distribution of uniquely scented products, he said.

There’s no word yet on what fragrance notes will be used in the scents.

The Sports Business Daily first reported on the Notre Dame fragrance line earlier this week. It reported that Cloudbreak has built the Yankees scent into a brand worth more than $10 million since rolling it out last spring.

Notre Dame won’t be the first school to try to capture the smell of team spirit. Masik Collegiate Fragrances markets perfumes for 11 universities, including Penn State, LSU, Oklahoma and Alabama.

I hope it smells like Irish Whiskey, it would only be right.

Then, also, if one of our star players gets pulled over drunk they can just say they are wearing the Universities cologne.

Anyone remember the "scent of a national champion" cologne FSU came out with in 93 before the ND game? Damn shame it still applies.....
