Nobody thought Kelly would ditch ND for LSU or Riley would ditch Oklahoma for USC. Yet here we are.
I'm a Ruhle fan, but he has no reason to leave Nebraska right now. And are you convinced ND is gonna pay him $10m or more to get him? Plus buyout? My gut says no and no.

NIU, Ball State, Marshall, Navy, Toledo, I’m missing a few more surely.
Freeman 3 seasons
3 TD lead Ok St lost
Lost to Marshall
Lost to Stanford
Hung on to beat Navy 35-32
Come back to beat Cal 24-17
Scored late to beat Duke
Got smoked at Louisville
Ohio State 10 players
Northern Illinois

Maybe ND isn’t better than this Idk

Adding: if Freeman doesn't have the media team put together a 10 minute painful reel, of these games, to show his teams every time they play a shit team at home… then he is doing it wrong.
Am I the only one who thinks ND were up for it but just incompetent all around?

Yeah name me 3 guys that would have success here. With the recruiting restrictions and everything else
Matt Rhule, Brian Kelly (already did it), Luke Fickell, Jonathan Smith, Kenny Dillingham.

There is a reason why we have to hire assistants like Freeman or up and coming coaches from smaller football programs.

Yes ND, unlike the other blueblood programs, has to hire assistants and up and coming HCs. Not like Texas who hired Bama's OC (who had previously flamed out as a HC), or Oregon who hired UGA's OC, or UGA who hired an alum who was Bama's DC, or Ohio State who promoted their OC.

Edit: Or Oklahoma who hired Clemson's DC, or Tennessee who hired small timey Heupel.

Edit 2: Or Clemson hiring their WRs coach

Or Ohio State who hired Urban Meyer, Michigan hiring Harbaugh, Alabama hiring Saban and then Deboer, USC hiring Riley, Louisville hiring Brohm(my choice at the time)etc.

Yes, other blue bloods have to do this SOMEtimes when their coach leaves/retires. ND has to do this ALL the time and hope they get lucky.

But go ahead and make your stand on Notre Dames great, exciting head coaching hires post Holtz.

Yep. At this point Freeman's trouble is not a lack of head coaching experience. It's a lack of consistency, particularly in games we should win. Maybe I get it his first year. Kind of mind-boggling at this point.

Our time was not up. They were thinking about the girl the night before. When NIU took the game they didn’t fight to get it back

12-13 times a year?! Not to win I presume. Maybe you’re including basketball games in that number.
Just to feel apart of something bigger than me. Ex-wives have a way of making you look in the rearview mirror.

Win or lose, It's always better than the alternative.

I wanted Freeman to do well. Thought he would be a great fit. Then he pulls shit like this and once again it's obvious we have the wrong guy.
Davie lost to everyone, Ty lost to everyone, Charlie lost to Syracuse, Uconn and Navy, Kelly lost to Tulsa, Navy, USF. It happens to every coach that coaches here. At this point I don’t see anyone being hired where the story is different

Right, we haven't had good coaches since the mid-90s.

Does anyone else also question LR’s ability to pass without planting his feet? It seemed anytime he moved out of the pocket his accuracy was mightily horrible.

Seriously, fuck the dumb shit. Play Carr now.

Nothing to lose.
I’m not saying they should do that but if they did replace RL w/ one of the backups & ND miraculously ran the table, it’d be hard to argue against ND turningit around & fixed what ailed them. Now…realistically that‘s implausible b/c that OL ain’t helping any QB & that defense is not CFP caliber after what they showed today against a bunch of former walk-ons
