Rhema McKnight(sp). Shark, Stovall, and McKnight were great together in 2005. I thought McKnight was a great receiver but didn't get much praise because of Shark and Stovall

McKnight got hurt in the the second game of the season. It was just Shark and Stovall that year.

The comment about Watt on the current team is interesting. You can ad Golic to that list, last year could have been a real disaster after Cave went down.

Back a few years, Powers-Neal, with him, Tuck as a senior, and the other guy we lost, we may have made the NC game.

Was he out the whole year? Before he got hurt he was an awesome receiver

Yeah he missed the whole season after that because he messed up his knee, not sure of exact injury. He was a good receiver before that and things may have been different if all three of those guys were on the field at the same time. Also had Fasano and a young Carlson on that team too.

Trevor Laws... hands down. I agree with FIL7, that man was on a different level than anyone on the team, and frankly put up stats no defensive lineman in the country could touch. He only fell a couple of tackles short of the single season ND record if I remember correctly.

Also, no one has said Ndukwe. Not only was he a solid defender at worst, but he brought us Brady Quinn. We owe two years of success to him exclusively!

I'll go with Harrison Smith.

I think we all counted him as an excellent talent, but I don't think very many people viewed him as a first round draft pick kind of talent, of which we have had very few in recent history. Prior to this year, we only had 2 first round draft picks since 2000.

Kinnon Tatum - if for no other reason than this hit from the 95 USC game:

1995 Notre Dame vs. USC - Kinnon Tatum - YouTube

I was at that game sitting in the opposite endzone, so you could see the hole open and him come flying in to hit the RB and the ball just popped up in the air...ah, good times :)

Thanks for that clip. It had been so long since I had seen it that I had almost forgot about it.
