And to think people on this site actually believed ND would be in NC consideration. Get a real coach, not a glorified cheerleader, and finally develop talent.

This was a total failure on all levels. Offense, defense, and special teams were bad. This is worse than Marshall. This team, coaches included, was thinking about a playoff spot and didn't give a second thought to Northern Illinois.

So a vacated season that people here still point to as great (side note: objectively hilarious to see this from the same folks who want UM to vacate last season, because apparently they won't just put an asterisk next to it like ND and USC do) and two years where they were shown to be frauds against good teams. What was your favorite part of 2020, barely eking out a win over DJU, who still managed to hang 40 on us? Not quite so great in hindsight.

Is Notre Dame the kind of university that will put MF on the hot seat?

Wait, people can’t honestly be entertaining the playoffs this year.... we lost to NIU, playoffs are officially a fart in the wind.

This day was an embarrassing day to be a ND fan. Jeez what a complete waste. Could you imagine the companies/people that paid NIL money for this bunch of losers?
Yeah, me.
I was convinced to do it despite my very strong objections.
I saw huge red flags in the Fiesta Bowl an NFL assistant coach friend of mine pointed out. Things that a HS coach wouldn’t do, but Freeman did, (under the guise he is a first time coach…).
But the powers to be promised me that this was the year. So I ponied up some funds.
Even help pay tuition for my nephews’ (who is a student at ND) roommate who is a walkon.
Am supposed to be with his entire family and other players’ families at the Louisville game.

Not giving any more.

His presser comments are proof he’s in way over his head.
I understand the perception but my opinion is that he’s not in over his head, especially during a presser. He’s proven that he’s a players coach and he’s not going to throw players or coaches for that matter under the bus. That typically means his pressers are lacking.

Let’s see how the rest of the season plays out.

What is going to be funny, is that ND will likely win close games against Purdue & Miami (Oh) and then will play Louisville like they did USC last year.

It's usually how this goes.

He actually coached the games & won, and it’s universally agreed by everyone with a working brain that ND didn’t cheat & should not have to vacate.
Beating DJU & #1 Clemson, who was a playoff team, is infinitely better than losing at home to NIU.
Just take another bad L (like Freeman) and go away.

You guys know Nick Saban is currently not coaching…some comments he has made on Gameday make me think it’s not out of the realm of possibility he would come to coach at Notre Dame.

Saban is in his 70’s & people around him say he looks & feels younger and healthier than ever now that he can enjoy retired life.
He’s happy and should stay retired.
I think he knows that.

We will see if he is able to hold back on that coaching itch as the season progresses.

I've just done a complete 180 on MF. Let the Willingham comparisons begin.
Once Deuce flips this might as well be the class to sacrifice with a coaching change. The offensive skills positions stink in this class anyways and there is enough depth in the program to be able to sustain some recruiting losses.
