Defense had a great second half adjustment. Hopefully Boubacar is okay.
Logan Thomas might be small but he’s going to be good.
Benmo struggled
Leonard is going to be good
KVA and Bowen flashed but need to step up in pass coverage.
Shuler = stud

Offense:
First half was great but once they adjusted we didn’t. The fact that we don’t run mesh or levels makes no sense to me we have to receivers for it the 2 yard dinks have zero after the catch opportunities. Finally we threw a damn screen. Leonard improved but then we stopped running. I don’t think we should have pulled price for the whole game yes he made a mistake but he is a weapon. Line struggles so we need to move the pocket when we did RL looked comfortable.

Spread the wideouts and let them find pockets of space while Riley moves the pocket. This would be ideal for the talent we have.

I think we need to have an IE gentlemen’s agreement that it’s OKAY to be critical of MF without that meaning you’re rooting against the team.

You can criticize things and people you care about. The two aren’t mutually exclusive.

That said, we gutted it out. 4-1 going into the bye. Still in contention.

Go Irish. ☘️
Agreed, As well as Riley.
The kid balls out and then throws a goofy pass in a game changer moment.

This forum looks to have real ND fans and we should be allowed to share our emotions.

After all, we are all in the decade of “feelings’.

Irish by a hundred the rest of the way

I agree with you, but there’s some on here that would rather see ND lose, and that’s pathetic. They played a terrible game and still beat a top 15 team. I’m happy they won while also concerned with lots of facets of how they performed
Terrible game might be a bit much...I think it is a good win going into the bye week.

mmmm...

I say the better team won

All I know is if the teams were switched, and ND did what Brohm and UL did, we would not be talking about UL winning because they were "the better team," no matter how positive we want to be about the Irish.

I'd be losing my mind and so would most of the rest of the folks watching the game.

I think this game was a testament to the depth we’ve built. Need to remember what we were missing:

Starters out going into game:

Jagusah
Schrauth
Craig
Botelho
Gray

All of the above will play in the league in some capacity.

Also:
Leonard banged up for 3/4 of game
Traore (best pass rusher) missed over half the game
Ben Mo (AA) missed half the game - prob banged up when returned
Pendleton and Faison out in 4th quarter
TE 2 in Flanagan out
Mickey Quit on the team

We beat a top 15 team with a ton of back ups / underclassmen on the field and our most important player (Riley) banged up. Of course it wasn’t perfect. The important thing was that we did it in spite of all of these issues.

Still believe this is a top 6-8 team when healthy.

Frustrating win. I really don’t know what to make of Riley Leonard but a Top 15 win so we take it and move on.

The kindest thing I can say about Notre Dame’s offensive operation is it’s a good thing that the incoming recruiting class is stacked with receiver talent that we’re going need to count on early.

These type of injuries would have crushed the team prior to 2022. The quality of depth has improved dramatically. The bye week comes at a great time to hopefully get some of the guys healthy enough to contribute.

I had some post game thoughts & then I started watching Bama DISMANTLE Georgia in the first quarter & I realized it doesn’t matter..

There is ZERO chance we go toe to toe with a team like that.

The gap is still there.
They’re playing a game that is a level above the game Notre Dame is trying to get to.

I don’t want this. I don’t want to limp into the playoffs then get boat raced by some competent team. I don’t want a QB who isn’t a passer. I don’t want barely there wins against mid teams. I’d rather go Ivy Leave.
Well you will probably get what you want as 4 losses with the soft D is likely to happen. Navy, GT and Army are potential huge embarrassing losses. Those three happen and freeman want to start sending his headshots around.

Hell of a lot better sipping on my bourbon watching Bama skull fuck Georgia after an ND win than a loss. Lots of cleaning up to do and the injuries may be too much to overcome at this point but let's hope the bye week gets this team what it needs.

The D isn't the problem

Who would right now they are up 21 on the number 2 team in the country. Georgia might not be that great though either it's hard to tell

Louisville had 2 gifted tds. Otherwise the Defense held them to 10 points when they had to earn it. More of a bend don't break d, but it works.

Offense was clicking to begin with until the the price fumble kinda started the lull.

If we sustain that drive rather than give it to lville on the 5, I think we would have marched to a comfortable win.

Still got the W, we arent playing our best, but I feel like we're improving. That was a pretty talented lville team and we faced a ton of adversity and still got it done
