We are 1-2.

Based on our play so far and upcoming schedule, what will our final record be?

Remaining schedule:

Duke (1-2)
@ Syracuse in NYC (1-2)
@NC State (2-1)
Stanford (2-0)
Miami (3-0)
Navy in Jacksonville (3-0)
Army in San Antonio (3-0)
Virginia Tech (2-1)
@USC (1-2)

I believe we will definitely lose to Stanford.

I think we lose to either Miami or Virginia Tech.

Then I think we lose one of the other games. Probably USC or NC State.

7-5

USC will 2014 us, and Stanford will just beat us. That's 4 I'd bet my vloot on. No way we survive Miami/NC State/Vtech either, probably drop one there. 7-5 baby. 7 years in, with a 1st round QB. Barf.

6-6 was a little more optimistic than I am at this point, but 4-8 wasn't an option.

7-5. With current coaches I think we get beat by VT, USC, and Stanford.

VT has the offense to outscore us and the defense to limit our offense.
MCaffrey and power run by Stanford will dominate our DL just like Texas and MSU
We play USC at the Colesseum last game of the season. Nuff said.

But 6-6 is very feasible. Miami is an unknown and Syracuse runs the same type of offense as Texas/Baylor. IIRC. Plus tempo. Not good.

Didn't you bet ALL of your vloot and lose on who would be the starter at QB?

1) Miami has a 1st year coach. If ND loses to a team with a completely new system in place, it must really really suck. I mean MAC level suck.

2) USC can go either way. The USC team now really sucks. If the coach can build confidence, look out with their athletes. Depends how many losses USC takes during the year and how the UCLA game goes.

3) VT beat two terrible teams and got blown out by Tenn. Not sure where you are seeing good defense when you give up 45 pts to Tenn who barely beat App St and Ohio.

I voted 7-5 but could certainly end up worse. I think we lose to Stanford, Miami, and Va Tech or USC. I could easily see us losing all the above and could drop a game to a service academy as well.

Duke (1-2) W, but wouldn't shock me if we lose
@ Syracuse in NYC (1-2) W
@NC State (2-1) L, tossup
Stanford (2-0) Absolute murder L
Miami (3-0) L, they just destroyed a really good App. St. team
Navy in Jacksonville (3-0) W, but who knows?
Army in San Antonio (3-0) W, if this is an L immediately fire Kelly
Virginia Tech (2-1) L
@USC (1-2) L

I voted 6-6...but that's me being hopeful. I'm more thinking 5-7.

If we lose to one team the rest of the way, I hope it is Army.

I grew up an Army fan and would love to see them head into the Navy game with a win against ND under their belt.

I think we have the service academies number for one. And VT has to progress a good amount too. But my opinion is 5 loses which is still to bad.

Yeah, just like some on here were claiming that "BK has D'antonis number" and that MSU "plays right into our strengths"

LOL. Navy has a real shot.

Probably really stupid of me and some slight homerism, but I'll say 9-3.

1.-Texas was using a completely new offensive system that I personally thought would cause Texas to struggle offensively and would be an advantage for ND but then they got BVG'd.

2.-USC has been a bag of hot garbage on offense but come the ND game they are playing against D-Lineman who play corner/safety, safeties who are world class bull fighters (olay!), and extremely talented LB's who have been BVG'd with 25,000 schemes to learn that they simply can't tell the difference between football practice and rocket science.

3.-Now VT seems like a winnable game. VT doesn't have a lot of explosive talent and they are bringing in a new offensive system and new head coach and playing at home should..........ahhhhh shit BVG'd again!

1. I said Miami is an unknown but they have a very good quarterback a lots of things in place. It could go any way.
2. Our record at the Colesseum the last game of the year is atrocious. I fully expect us to be undermanned heading tnto that game like 2014.
3. Bud foster is a good DC. I did not say they have a great defense. I said they would be able to give ND offense problems and that their offense is good enough to hang points against our shitty defense. That adds up to a possible/likely loss IMO

Oh man...I hope not.

But there is nothing that makes me want to argue with you about that.

What happened to the folks that told me I was crazy for the 8-4 prediction and threw all this "weak schedule" and said it would be impossible to lose 4 games? LOL

Our schedule was actually weaker last year which is why we managed to go 10-2. People shit on me for saying it but look at us now.

My % chance of ND winning each game
Duke 92%
Syracuse 94%
NCSU 58%
Stanford 23%
Miami 37%
Navy 85%
Army 85%
Va Tech 55%
USC 60%

About 7-5 is my prediction

It may be better top to bottom this year but the scuedule last year was much better at the top. Our losses were to the final AP #2,3 and 4. We aren't playing any of those caliber of opponents this year. Our bowl opponent will not be good either, assuming we're bowl eligible.

Granted that last year's scuedule lacked top to bottom depth and we didn't beat anybody who was about a top 30 team.

7-5, although I think 6-6 by losing to Tech or 5-7 by dropping Tech and one of the next three are both completely feasible. Instead of winning two in a row and going on a tear, we'll win two in a row and get complacent and drop one to a much weaker team.

Duke (1-2) WIN
@ Syracuse in NYC (1-2) WIN
@NC State (2-1) WIN
Stanford (2-0) LOSS
Miami (3-0) LOSS
Navy in Jacksonville (3-0) WIN
Army in San Antonio (3-0) WIN
Virginia Tech (2-1) WIN
@USC (1-2) LOSS

Damn, looking at this schedule I get really bummed, we should have been a playoff team this year.
