I hate doing Green vs Zelalem comparisons as they are completely different players, and both are definitely going to be in future starting XIs for US world cup squads. But Zelalem possesses elite prowess on the ball, passing, and vision. Green has the edge in natural instincts and finishing ability. What they each lack is the physicality at the moment. Zelalem is still only 17, though. If he can put on a bit of muscle, watch out. Green desperately needs to hit the weight room, too.

Altidore on his way out at Sunderland. His play has been lacking but Sunderland just plays a putrid style of football.

Kid needs to just come home, seriously.... Timbers have a DP spot and he'd fit well there

Sounds like he might move to Ligue 1 or Serie A, both of which he would fit in very well. EPL style of play does not fit Altidore in general, and Sunderland's style is even worse. He would absolutely kill it in MLS... him and Nagbe would kill it for the Timbers.

I watched Arsenal dominate Hull today in the FA Cup, hoping Zelalem would get in, but no such luck. I would love to see him get some time with the big club. I missed him in the Champs League earlier this year.

Crazy that he is still only 17. I am hoping he gets loaned out to a relegation fodder premier league side this transfer window like Leicster or Crystal Palace for the remainder of the season so he can get some serious PT.

Gerrard is retiring from Liverpool and headed to Galaxy is the newest hottest rumor. Don't know when but supposed to be after the completion of this BPL season.

Pretty sure mid july was what I read... It's all but official. He stated in a presser that he is done at Liverpool and headed to the States after this season.

Jozy Altidore back to MLS it is looking. Teams in contention are RBNY, Toronto, and Portland

Some interesting, and surprising, names on the roster JK released yesterday for 2015. Pretty heavy on MLS. It'll be interesting to see how they compete.

Goalkeepers: Alex Bono (unattached), Sean Johnson (Chicago Fire), Jon Kempin (Sporting Kansas City), Nick Rimando (Real Salt Lake)

Defenders: Matt Besler (Sporting Kansas City), Steve Birnbaum (D.C. United), Christian Dean (Vancouver Whitecaps FC), Brad Evans (Seattle Sounders FC), Jermaine Jones (New England Revolution), Perry Kitchen (D.C. United), Shane O'Neill (Colorado Rapids), Oscar Sorto (LA Galaxy)

Midfielders: Michael Bradley (Toronto FC), Mix Diskerud (out of contract), Dennis Flores (Club Leon), Luis Gil (Real Salt Lake), Miguel Ibarra (Minnesota United FC), Lee Nguyen (New England Revolution), Marc Pelosi (Liverpool), Dillon Serna (Colorado Rapids), Brek Shea (Orlando City SC), Wil Trapp (Columbus Crew SC)

Forwards: Tesho Akindele (FC Dallas), Clint Dempsey (Seattle Sounders FC), Julio Morales (Tepic), Chris Wondolowski (San Jose Earthquakes), Bobby Wood (1860 Munich), Gyasi Zardes (LA Galaxy)

I don't understand why a reached-his-ceiling-club-team player like Wondo keeps getting called up, and how a 24 yr old that the MLS hasn't even called up (Ibarra) is getting a shot. Surely we have better forwards and midfielders available than those two, don't we? I just don't get it. I'd rather an MLS club give Ibarra a look than the national team. Head scratching.

Agreed. The whole Wondo thing is very perplexing. I was over him before the Cup, and then that miss ...

Wondolowski is there for leadership probably. All of the young forwards need someone there for training to look to. For January camp there's a pretty small pool of strikers anyway.

Yeah the January camp is called "camp cupcake" . It's predominantly for players that have something to prove and MLS since it's the off season.

City deserved more than a point there. They really outplayed Chelsea, but they are still lacking the final piece up front.

Aguero's injury seems to have really set him back.

Arsenal simply destroyed Aston Villa 5-0 today. Good to see the Gunners take it too a team. Too many times we see them go up 2-0 or 3-0 and having to hang on late for a 1 goal lead.

Really pulling for Swansea coming up against Southampton.
