Get in here LFC supporters. YNWA. Two and a half years later and it looks like we're losing our star striker for £50m again. I just hope it resolves itself early during silly season.

Gonna be hard top beat Brazil there though...

I think Brazil will play better than their mid teens ranking is right now, but their keeper is suspect and everybody that has "Brazil" on their shirt wants to score goals... leaving holes.

I'm a big England fan but it seems our defense is... well.. a bit rough. As much as I hate Chelsea I think Joe Hart is pretty dang good, no Neuer though. I really think Germany has the most talent, the only team that comes close is Argentina and they'll choke.

Can't forget about Spain too (they're young but maybe Belgium too w/Vermaelen, Benteke, Fellaini, Hazard, Lukaku, etc).

Brazil has as much talent as anyone and it is in their house... that's gonna be huge... As far as talent playing together, yeah there are better teams. I wouldn't put England anywhere near the level of Spain, Brazil, Argentina, Germany, Italy, The Netherlands... just for starters...

Oh absolutely not, England, unless something crazy happens, wont make it to the final 8 with the way they are playing. If I had it my way, the Netherlands would win. The talent of the teams you named are ridiculous. There is a considerable dropoff after those teams, not just to England, but to just about everybody.

Stupid signing by Real, in my opinion. I think he is more of a liability at this point. He's good, when he isn't serving suspensions.

Hahaha he gave an interview in Uruguay and it's all mistranslated or his agent is leaking things to drum up some interest. I understand why he would want to leave, but I thought it would be if LFC didn't get CL in 13-14. All the horrible **** he's done doesn't really help him trying to turn around his image, especially since he bit someone while he was in the finals for POY. The racism thing finally starts to go away and he bites someone. However, the media are biased toward him. One example was when he did something marginal against Stoke and everyone flipped ****. They didn't pay a lick of attention to Suarez getting stomped by Huth.

As a Liverpool fan I would duly like to note that most English soccer clubs used Scottish players in the professional leagues infancy. Particularly Liverpool. Their rosters from the 19th century up to WWII were littered with Scotsmen. That being said..... Historically Celtic and Liverpool are the two best teams on god's green earth. FMANU.

Kenny Dalglish, Hillsboro... some major soccer history shared by the two clubs.
Liverpool & Celtic - the ties that bind us - Liverpool FC

Liverpool does not want to sell him. Real offering 40 mil euros? No formal offers made public nor acknowledged by LFC or Suarez. Today he stated he wants to leave because of the press and not feeling comfortable in Merseyside anymore. Jersey burning going on while we speak. Walk on......

YNWA.

They should make a slip and slide out of the jerseys and practice diving on them that would be more fitting than burning them

SOmeone posted a properly translated form of the interview and are claiming, shockingly, sensationalism. LFC just tweeted LFC expects Luis to honor his contract, that they support him, and also, that Luis nor his reps have mentioned leaving in any capacity. I'll post it momentarily.

#Suarez on Uruguay presser: "Every time I talk, it gets turned into something huge"

#Suarez "I only said I'm very happy in LIV, I'll be forever grateful for the way the club and fans treated me. I love being there because..
.. it's a spectacular club and city, and I still have a contract there. I said it's hard to say no to RM because it's normal.. #Suarez
.. you always dream about [being in] big teams. But I don't have anything yet, I haven't spoken neither to Real nor LFC, nobody... #Suarez
... Even my agent hasn't told me anything yet and that's what keeps me calm. What happens is that there's been speculations and.. #Suarez
... That's why everything I say will be turned into something big. #Suarez on URU press conference.

Question to #Suarez: With that said, do you think it's the right time for a change?

#Suarez: "Yes, obviously. On the subject that I spoke about yesterday and will keep repeating, it's a complicated and difficult moment...
... on which I am a human being and have feelings, and I've suffered because things have being said that aren't true.. #Suarez
.. They haven't valued me as a player on the pitch but only my attitude so, it ****es you off, this has been going for a while.. #Suarez
.. So, you have limits, you have a family that suffers as well and it's really tough." #Suarez

Question: "Do you feel identified with RM's playing style? There are other teams that want you so, which team's style do you identify atm?"

#Suarez: "To this day I feel identified with #Liverpool, not to mention I have a contract with them, who saw great potential in me and..
.. I grew up as a player in #Liverpool but always in tranf. window there are many rumours, this [the window] is only getting started #Suarez

Q: Y'day you talked about LFC's support 4 you but, have you thought that the sensation that the journalists and the FA transmit...
..[to the people in England] could expand to the rest of Europe? This question is a bit weird but it has to do with LS having a "reputation"

#Suarez: "I don't think so, I think that the interested clubs will be interested in 'Suarez the player', not his attitudes, I made...
.. A mistake, I apologized and regretted it. I already said it, that's clear enough. And I think one [himself] should be more aware of..
.. The mistake I made in case I go to other club or stay at #LFC, can't keep doing things wrong, I think I've learned and it's.. #Suarez
.. a lesson for the future." #Suarez

Q: Are you aware that Atletico's interested in your services? [That's a new one ¬¬] and 2.- Are you seduced by spanish football because..
.. Of it's playing style or simply because the enviroment in England has gone complicated and turned unsuitable for you to continue?

#Suarez: I think that there will always be interest of clubs and it's going to be talked about a lot, but I've never got anything...
. Personally, or [asked] to talk with anyone of any team. But it's kind of the two things, one of them I always said it.. #Suarez
.. In ENG, I'm in the best league in the world IMO, and the spanish lge is up there too, they're 2 of the best lges in the world.. #Suarez

..In ENG [there] is spectacular football, and I think I've shown bravery, I've moved forward with what happened on the racism case..
.. And after this [Ivanovic case] I've felt bad because like I said, things have been said that made me feel uncomfortable.. #Suarez
.. I have a daughter to look after, she's important too and I think putting her out of that enviroment, of those things like... #Suarez
.. "Her father's bad". I'd rather change because of that, it doesn't have anything to do with #LFC or anything like that.. #Suarez
.. It's just in the sense of me feeling bad, I'm a human being, I have feelings and I'd love to play in another league too." #Suarez

Q: On a possible move, what do you prioritize, the football aspect, the team you 'like' the best, or the economic?

#Suarez: "If it was down to the economic [reason] I would've already left for the countries that have been mentioned before but, I am..
..Prioritizing my family, my image and I think that's what I care about the most. I went through a complicated & difficult moment.."
..from which I'd love to get out, & I'm not saying this because I'm here or anything, but cause the manager and my teammates know..
..what I went through, I was mistreated and didn't feel comfortable, they know that perfectly, and I think it'll be understandable.. #Suarez
. If one day I get to leave #Liverpool." #Suarez

Q: About the english press, what was the last straw [that broke the camel's back]?

The real quote is smth like "the drop that flooded the glass", it's the spanish equivalent, I had to change the phrase to fit translation

#Suarez: "First of all, the thing of the paparazzi following all the time, every move I made, everything I did. I couldn't take my child..
.. To the park, go to the market or anything, it's something like, you're exposed, but well, not to mention they've said absurdities
.. Pictures every day, mockings, from which none [of the media] came forward to defend me. I think-- I already knew the talk.. #Suarez
.. About me possibly being the POTY, I said it on the club's website I think, that I [knew I] wasn't going to win any award.. #Suarez
.. Because of the way they treated me. Our captain, Gerrard, came fwd to say I wasn't being treated fairly, and well it was the last straw.
.. The last straw was the mistake I made, which I accepted, but they exceeded the limit as well." #Suarez

Q: Now outside of england, but on the same line of thought. Are you surprised the incident in Chile got into the hands of FIFA?

#Suarez: Yes! It surprises you because if we look at every thing that happens in the box we'd have like 5 or 10 actions where you..
.. Feel like someone's getting suspended, it even happened last night on Boca vs Newell's. If everything's looked at it'll be.. #Suarez
.. Complicated and there won't be any players left. Well, also it surprised me that the President of those who were watching me.. #Suarez
.. (Probably disciplinary committee) was english, irish, or somewhere around that (< LOL), so you know where it's coming from.. #Suarez
.. It's a constant thing, the Minister of I-don't-know-what was like "Suarez is this and that to the children.." or something.. #Suarez
.. He should worry about his business, we're trying to do our job here and I can't apologize more than I already did." #Suarez

Q: Were you left wanting to see Evra? Because the uruguayan public was expecting him to come and [so they could] show you their support

#Suarez: "No, at all. I already played against him a few times, it's on the past, I think it's something left behind and well, to me..
.. If he had come he was going to be just another player I could play against on the pitch." #Suarez

Q: Is there a deadline for you to say if you are going to stay or leave #Liverpool?

#Suarez: "No, I don't. I don't know if I'm going to leave and I don't know if I'm going to stay, the club knows perfectly what I think..
They know what I went through but hey, I have a contract with #LFC, if I stay, I stay delightfully cause it's a spectacular club #Suarez
.. but at the same time they know it's difficult cause of th harassment I received from the press there, & they know that perfectly" #Suarez

He brings it on himself though, you know? They might be a bit biased towards him, but when you do something stupid THAT many times, that bias tends to just become the truth.

But I disagree IHMM...he's better than good; he's absolutely phenomenal (when not suspended). He's one of those rare forwards with not only the skill and speed to run at you and the calmness to finish at the net, but he combines that with a relentlessness not seen by enough forwards in today's game IMO. I mean, he's running at you the entire game, he's a great passer, and he's all over the field just waiting for you to make a mistake. He's a defender's worst nightmare, especially because he'll bite you if you get in his way.

The question is...is he worth the risk? Tough, tough call. I love watching him play, but I hate the dude.

He's brought it on himself. There might have been a case that it was unwarranted, but that all dissolved when he bit Ivanovic. You just can't do something that many times and still have a leg to stand on. I don't want him to go, but at this point, I think I'd be happier getting £50m, grabbing CB Papa from Schalke, Eriksen from Ajax, and someone else to walk into our starting XI.

Agree totally. Suarez has had far too many incidents. I want Eriksen + the money for Suarez.

The Stevie shirt burning was when he almost left the club for Chelsea or Real. He was almost gone, until apparently local mobsters threatened his family. No joke. I watched a British series called Underworld, I believe. And it was the Liverpool one. They brought up how Stevie was signed and sealed to Mourinho at Chelsea, but one guy got a hold of Steven's father and explained the situation. I'll try to find it.

This was not in my history of LFC dvds or my "Red Men" club biography.... I feel cheated....

Seriously though...Lampard and Gerrard in midfield. That does not work for England why whould it work Chelsea?
