Grandson opened the HS season with a goal 24 seconds into the game. Gonna be hard to top that all season.

New FIFA Manager Mode looks good... added new transfer negotiations, numerous cut scenes, press conferences, Ballon D'Or, U20 squads and games... Galaxy also have Stub Hub in the game, which is crazy to me that LAG got their park in before Celtic but it's all good.

My hype train is officially rollin... one month away bhoys.

Lol nah boys... your pursuit is difficult because you came calling for Liverpool's best player in freakin' August and the owners said he's not available.

Me too, so pumped.

It will be interesting to see how they line up. I don't see how Klopp can keep Robertson out of the team, considering how good he was on Saturday. (You could argue that Klavan should start over Lovren, but imo that's a toss-up; both players are error-prone, Klavan slightly less so, but Lovren is more athletic and better able to recover from mistakes.) I also think Milner should start in midfield along with Can, although I am torn on whether the third midfielder should be Henderson or Gini. Gini's work rate is exemplary but he lacks a bit of creativity; Henderson's passing range is great to have in the 6 spot but he is not playing like he is fully fit, although that might just be early-season rust after sitting out most of last season.

Klopp ended up going with the same team as last Tuesday ...

I guess all he needs is the same result. In fact, a draw or a 1-0 loss will do. Come on you Reds!

Needed Sevilla or Pool to lose for Celtic to go to pot 3.. they're the highest seeded team in pot 4 currently...

If I am playing Liverpool, I am planning my attack on going at Lovren's side of the pitch. He's poor.

Firmino just scored. 4-1.

With this win, I'm wondering if Liverpool does what Arsenal normally do. Finish 4th, qualify for CL, then get late signings before the window closes. Still talk about Van Dijk, Keita and maybe a third.

They need another center back so Lovren is on the bench, that much is for sure.

The Lovren situation reminds me a lot of college football actually. It's like when you have a coach who recruits a QB who has the perfect physical profile for your system and then keeps playing him even though it is clear that he doesn't have what it takes between the ears to be a consistent winner. Same thing here. Klopp loves Lovren's athleticism and ability to come out of nowhere to make tackles, especially because his system requires leaving the center backs with tons of space to defend by themselves from time to time, so he's being way, overly patient with Lovren's glaring mental lapses. It's no different with Moreno.

But there has to be someone out there we can get who would be better. It's just too many errors.

My co-worker who sits in the next office over is a huge Liverpool fan (much bigger than me, as they are only my #EPL team). He watched the entire game while I was able to watch in pieces. I missed the first goal, and when he blamed Lovren I thought he was joking. Nope. And when he blamed him for the 2nd goal, I thought for SURE he was effing with me. Nope. Unreal.

Yes, Lovren can make get to balls no one else can...problem is, he is usually chasing his own damn mistakes. It's gotta be in his head at this point.

Also, when teams let them have the run of play, Liverpool is sooooooooo exposed on the counter. I'm probably wrong, but I just don't see a true #6 on that team. I just don't see it with Henderson. Maybe he can be that defensive stopper, but I just don't get that sense from him. I became a Liverpool fan when Xabi Alonso ran that spot, and Busquets has been doing it for a decade now for Spain/Barca, so perhaps I'm setting the bar too high, as those two were the best in the world at defensive center-mid for a good six years running. But I watch Liverpool, and in Lovern's defense, I don't think he's protected very well at all in front of him.

But that attack today...daaaaamn. Salah and Mane on the flanks, Firmino (NOT a #9 but a menace up top) creating havoc and Can/Llalana/Coutinho also providing creative support...when they are flowing they're REALLY fun to watch.

(And then they play Burnley lol.)

Can't wait for tomorrow's draw!

Agreed. It's got to suck for them to see the draw every year. I'd like to root for Celtic for once :)

(In all honesty, if you're ever going to draw Barca, this is the time.)

Salah looked preternaturally quick, and uber-directional changing. He also hustled his butt off. I didn't get the commentary that he had a ho-hum to poor game. I was rather stunned as to how dangerous he was. Mane and Firmino were also superb. Now get me at least Lallana back, and tell Henderson to try to bail Lovren out, and then Liverpool will only lose by (still) not being able to defend set piece muscle plays.

Guess every team has a weakness... sucks about the set pieces though.

Fruatrating as hell. Once Phil is back in the team is going to be damn silly. Lallana will be fun to have as well but gotta be patient there.

For those in UCL who do you want to see your team draw? Celtic had one of the more difficult groups possible last year so I'm hoping for just a milder set there... for Dortmund it'd be fun to get another crack at Liverpool... in fact that'd be a fun group in general... BVB, Celtic and liverbird...

HORRIBLE draw for Barca. There’s not a gimme in that group. Watched it with my co-worker, and told him I felt sorry for Celtic and didn’t want them to have to play us again, and then we get friggin’ Porto as our “easiest” game. Suddenly I was pining for Celtic again LOL.

And then you guys get Bayern and PSG!! Unbelievable your (lack-of) luck. While you avoided Barca, you still got Neymar lol.

Phenomenal draw for Liverpool. Couldn’t be happier with it. They have a real chance of making it to the knock-out stage.

Tottenham can play with Borussia. I don't think it's a death sentence, personally, as long as their manager doesn't punt the Champions League like he did last year.

Poch punted on the Europa League two years ago at BVB.

Last year in th CL they were fine but missed Kane for several games.

Dele is serving a 3 game ban so really zero chance Spurs pick up points against Madrid or BVB in the first two matchups. I'm fine with it, take the money and get back to a strong league performance in this dumb season at Wembley.
