Sucks about their RB, he was one of their best performers.

They have 4 straight games to get right before the gauntlet of their season.

imo

It got stale....the Rees was hired, 2.0 happened and then they went on the best multiple seasons run in 30 years......then he left because he wanted more from the university.

It was starting to get stale again, but the casual sarcasm with sideline reporters was fun.

You were warned.
Y’all were correct. Hey, I’ll eat crow and admit it, but I didn’t hire the fuck.

Obviously, I like and pull for ND too and follow the team. The one thing I vividly remember about BK at ND is he never assembled a complete team. Something was always missing. For example, the offense was great, but the defense was piss poor. Alternatively, ND would field a stout defense, but the QB and offense sucked.

Given that LSU is arguably easier to recruit, I didn’t expect us to have those issues. Big mistake …. Here we are, in year 3, with a dogshit secondary, inadequate (albeit, improved) defense…our special teams cost us many games in previous years (thanks to his good buddy). It’s like he never learns.

It's crazy how someone as inexperienced as M Freeman has fixed this so quickly. How does a successful, veteran coach like BK not get this.

Sorry FB, but I am glad he is now your problem.

To be fair, BK didn't have the same assortment of roster band-aids to choose from via the portal.

OTOOH, I'm not sure BK would have been as good as Freeman at convincing boosters to help get guys out of the portal.

wait - Diggs is gone? poor kid
Transferred to Ole Miss. Had knee surgery in the off season it looks like. He was expected to miss the first game at least, could be back in the coming weeks.
He had 653 rushing yards for BK last season and 7 TDs. Not sure why he transferred again since he wanted to be home originally. Seemed like there was some kind of falling out.

I don't expect 4 losses for LSU. Their defense looked improved but USC/Miller Moss played lights out. I mean, some of those catches and throws under pressure were surreal.

I absolutely get the frustration but I’d take a step back from the ledge.

In reality, everything that LSU set out to do this year is still right in front of them. Just handle business from here and all will be good again in Tiger Land.

Execute in a couple or few big spots and the outcome would have been different. Why do I feel like I’ve told myself this before…?

Agree. USC looked like a good team and yet LSU was a couple of late mistakes away from winning that game. The schedule looks manageable (Ole Miss, Bama and Oklahoma are all at home?) and you all could lose one more and still make it at-large, or take the SEC West and shoot your shot vs. Georgia. Either way. I wouldn't sweat it too hard, you're better off than, say, A&M.

While true...don't forget that other coaches didn't either. The game was upleveled for all teams.

Kelly had a four-year stretch at ND where he only lost one game to a less talented team—Cincinnati at home. He beat teams he should have beaten, but at LSU, a lack of alignment seems to be holding him back.

Kelly's biggest fault IMO, is his reliance on buddies who have coached with him before. Bringing in guys you've worked with before allows you to get your system and philosophy installed faster, but it may not be a fit or work as well at your new school. Kelly has only been an adapter when forced to be.

BK had another uneventful performance last night if it makes you feel any better.

BK loses his best player to injury in an unimpressive victory yesterday. He's going to get pounded by the bayou faithful as he gets into SEC play. LSU looks like a shell of itself so far this season.

We just don't have the players. Before the season started, with our schedule (USC, Alabama, OU, Ole Miss, A&M, etc.) I predicted we'd lose 4 games. The schedule is too difficult. Kelly should be further along in the rebuild.

Matt House unironically cost Kelly a title last year. That defense is able to slow down a few teams ever so much, they coast to a title and the anguish of ND fans.

God Bless Matt House.

If only it was that simple. Brian Kelly would still have to defeat Brian Kelly when the lights are bright.

Last year was ND 2015-esque... had all the championship caliber pieces on offense that he needed, but had BVG style crap on defense.

How patient is the LSU going to be with Kelly? Just seems they don't wait too long to fire a coach if a natty isn't attained fairly quickly.

He just needs to fire and replace his whole staff and they'll be churning out 10-2 seasons in no time.

Interesting line on his game this week. Playing at home against South Alabama and only a 21 point favorite. It's South Alabama. I'd imagine pitchforks coming out if they don't win by more than this.

Not trying to be a smart ass...did you see what USA just did on the road at App State? Did you see how LSU looked at home against UCLA (who might be the second worst team in the B1G this year ahead of only Purdue)?

I'm not touching that line on my parlays this weekend.
