I just don't get calling for Kelly's head AT THIS POINT because we lost our starting nickel, DT, RB, and QB and are 2-0.

Kizer sure looked ready to play tonight. If you take out the fake FG, Kizer went 7/11 for 85 yards and a TD. Not bad for his first real game play. And that TD throw to Fuller was a great throw!

It's a clown argument. Elite teams can play shitty in any given week. Just because Arkansas lost today doesn't give our head coach a pass. That's absurd.

Brian Kelly should be compared to Nick Saban, Urban Meyer, Les Miles, and other elite head coaches because we want to have the success they do. Those guys don't go 8-4 most years and lost to Northwestern, Tulsa, Navy, etc. etc.

Drives stall. Defenses blow coverages. Players get hurt. It's part of the game.

Kelly has done a good job. But, there is always room for improvement. That goes for the players and the coaches too, including Kelly.

Shouldn't have to coach him up! That is one of my issues with BK. Why aren't our backups or young guys ready to play. They are at other schools around the country try but not here at ND.

lol where is this coming from? Kizer played well in a very high pressure situation. He made 2 great throws and a good 4th down run and won the game. He impressed me, idk what you were watching. Also I remember a young Tommy Reese coming in and playing pretty well in 2010, 2012 we had a R-Freshman at QB in the NC game.....

If you don't think luck in the injury department has a significant impact on who wins the championship from year to year, you have a kindergarten understanding of football.

BK's plan Bs have been shit so far. Tommy Rees/Dayne Crist/Tommy Rees. Kizer is a BK type of QB. Let's see how he does not that he has his first legit plan B.

3. Play calling is still utterly horrible. There was a 20 minute stretch during the game where I didn't understand why we ran every play when we did. The 2nd and 10 runs, the 4th and short dive plays. The lack of screens. etc. etc. I don't even know who calls plays anymore it changes so often but it's ultimately on the head coach.

A few thoughts on this point:

1. When you are confident in your team's ability to run the ball, 2nd and 10 is a running down to set up a more manageable 3rd down and distance.

2. What's wrong with a "dive" on 4th and short when you're dominating the LOS? The issue tonight was execution, not play call.

3. I noticed a few times this game that the camera was close up on BK when the play call came in and his lips weren't moving. I've been under the assumption BK calls the plays but this game made me question that on a few occasions.

4. Aside from a play or two, I had no issue with the play calling.

5. Personally, I really don't like the fact we refuse to go under center.
