We are gonna have to go into the portal and pay big $$ this offseason. We haven’t recruited overly well in a couple years at LB for whatever reason when you have a former LB and defensive minded head coach.

kinda like that idea. Some rising sophomore who flashed and is enamored by our recent lb successWhy? We start two linebackers, 3 of our top 4 have the ability to return plus everyone believes Faraimo is next man up. The odds that next years starting linebackers are both on the roster and highly touted are extremely high. We have to pay big money for a backup linebacker?
You’re probably looking for a Jayden Sanders type add if anything at all.
They haven't recruited well at LB in years and the portal (aside from JJB) has been non-existent.We are gonna have to go into the portal and pay big $$ this offseason. Next year is troublesome. The possibility that Sneed, Bowen and KVA may all enter the draft (Ausberry could as well, but I doubt he does) leaves Faraimo and a lot of unproven talent. That unproven talent is made up of players that some feel came from weak classes and are anything but a sure thing to replace a lot of dependable production.I feel like I’m taking crazy pills. LB at ND is healthy and pretty well stocked, is it not?
People need to take a chill pill. We only start 2 LB’s Farimo will be a stud and it’s a high likelyhood one of the guys with years left come back. Also Davis Jr, KIA and Clapper are all gonna be productive players.Next year is troublesome. The upperclassmen and Faraimo are very good...The problem is the recruiting since that '23 group has been "very average" by ND standards. Rezac, Kahoun, Kia, Davis Jr, Clapper is a middle of the pack group but definitely not moving the needle for a top 10 team.I feel like I’m taking crazy pills. 💯.Strange hill to die on, Rocket.
With the nickel as the base, these big linebacker classes are dinosaurs. Imo, get one elite guy per year and stack the rest of the depth chart with bluechips. This is exactly what ND has done.
Well if you read KVA is an upperclassmen and it clearly states outside of those guys and Faraimo it's average and has been average since those guys signed. Those guys listed wouldn't be considered "World Beaters" by anyone or expected to major contributors to a top 5 team.So when you don’t count KVA and Faraimo the recruiting is average?
Can we live in a world where we do count all the players?

What? Nobody said they needed a big LB class and maybe if they were getting one 'Elite" per year and blue chips guys then we wouldn't be having this convo. Getting a 4⭐ and guys outside of the top 500/PWO types is hardly blue chips. If you stacking the depth chart with top 300-350 guys that's one thing but some of these guys I know from day one A. Won't ever see the field or B. Transfer Portal, simply because they weren't good enough to be at this level of Ball.Strange hill to die on, Rocket.

I didn't mention those two classes specifically I said LB recruiting has been underwhelming since the class of '23. So yes, as I stated from day one with those "filler" recruits like Zinter, Kahoun, Rezac those guys never see the field and end up in the portal. Why did you include Kahoun and Rezac then if the point was supposed to be the 2025 and 2026 class only? You included them to weaken the group you wanted to present, but then you have to rightly include KVA too then, no?
