This year has shown we can have a terrible loss and still make the playoffs. Heck, we can probably get in at 10-2 depending on the schedule. Makes going with a guy like Carr less "risky" when the upside is there.

If we’re not taking a transfer, I have zero faith in Angeli to quarterback us to a 10+ win season. He’s a high floor, low upside guy that makes a great backup QB but a very average starter. I think he could transfer to a place like Northwestern or Cal and be a nice fit.

Huh. The timing kinda lines up - Carr was hurt some time in later September. Onye hasn’t played since Louisville on Sept 28 - but sitting a guy for most of the season seems pretty extreme unless they thought he intentionally tried to hurt someone.

i remember a clip before of Onye thrash talking OL in practice (Spindler?) after a rep and the OL not being impressed lol. This was from maybe fall camp 2023? Perhaps he was always a bit over exuberant in practice or something
