Who knows? Maybe they turn the heat up on a guy like Sevillano or Jayden Jackson. I'd like Scott, but I don't see him as a make or break prospect for this class, or even really a need. High upside, but severally overrated and has A LOT of development needed to come close to his potential.
I really want Notre Dame to land Justin Scott for obvious reasons. But I'd be lying if I said he doesn't seem like one of those five stars that, in retrospect, may have been placed too high.

Of course I'd rather Notre Dame find that out with him on the roster, but he radiates some "Notre Dame's five-stars never work out, so that's why we all need to be happy recruiting three-stars because JOK and Tyler Eifert were three-stars, so they're all guaranteed future high NFL draft picks" energy.

ISD doesn't think Scott is a five-star, but is a good player who will need 2-3 years to develop.

5-stars shouldn't need two years, let alone three to develop.
It looks like NDMatt edited his reply after I commented. So ISD thinks he *is* a five-star? I guess I disagree if that's what they see.

You definitely, absolutely want Justin Scott to develop on your roster for 2-3 years, but that's not what Miami is paying an acquisition fee for in this recruitment.

Sorry, had a case of the Monday's. They don't think he's a 5-star and is rated a bit high. They still think he's a good player but not an immediate impact guy. They think he needs 2-3 years before he can make an impact.

ND has more to lose by not landing Scott than landing him which is unfortunate for Freeman. Probably explains why some ND analysts are now saying he is too raw to be a 5 star.

Of course you do.

And idk shout others but ISD has been consistent on him. Jamie U doesn’t have him in his top 50.

It doesn't sound like ND is moving on to anybody.

I think it's Scott or nothing. They seem content with taking Wafle as the nose and probably think Young will grow into a 3T.

I don't see much wrong with that considering they took 3, potentially 4 interior guys last year with Vernon, Houstan and potentially one or both of Traore and Mukam.

No, ND isn’t getting the big fella, that’s the problem. Now, they’re plan B is another shitty 3* project, that’s barely played football.
Mom he is doing it.., wait damn getting quick on the ban like a gunslinger at a shoot out

6-4 310#..... that is some size there.....

Perhaps I am reading too much into the pic. I like that the ND pic is center and he is full helmeted stance. But perhaps I am being wishful.

Two ways to look at it if he’s committing soon:

1) He isn’t choosing ND because he hasn’t visited in months while visiting elsewhere multiple times

2) Since he doesn’t have an OV to ND set, he is doing it during the fall as a commit

Answer: I’m full of shit on #2 & no way he is going to ND…

on the live LT announcement right now IB was just saying that Miami is throwing a ton of money his way and that it basically seems to be working. they wouldn't give numbers but talked like people in general would be shocked at how much money that they are offering kids and how the NCAA isn't doing a thing about it.

They might want to focus on getting a decent QB room w all of Ruiz’s NIL funds

But remember, IB would also have you believe it’s 100% Al Washington’s fault that Justin Scott wants that upfront cash from Miami because Al is the current target that Driskell is blaming for Notre Dame’s problems.

Driskells sources feel good.
Yeah, that’s not what he said at all…

He said the ONLY people he talks to he feel good about ND is the actual ND sources.

Then literally said ALL HIS OTHER SOURCES feel that ND is running at best 3rd, behind Miami & probably Michigan. And the sources from Miami, Michigan, Georgia all feel he is going to Miami.

He just gave Al Washington credit for getting Loghan Thomas.

It's incredible that there isn't a single ND booster who has said "you know what? Screw it. I'm gonna drop bags...I mean, contribute NIL money for recruits."

John Ruiz vs FUND

If we lose a St Ignatius 5 Star to The U it just shows how not ready for prime time the FUND and ND Administration is. ND has the fucking resources to go toe to toe w fucking Ruiz. GMAFB.

(Friendly reminder we got / held onto Sam Hartman and Antonio Carter bc of NIL. Proven transfers are a better use of money)

Would you rather have 1 year of proven Sam Hartman or a freshman 5 star QB? Considering the probability of a bust, its pretty close for me.

Both.

We're Notre Dame. There's no reason we shouldn't have both.
