OSU interview with him here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-lCYoTv7n2Y

Very well spoken.

Visiting Stanford & Cal first week of June, maybe SC.

Wants to major in Mechanical Engineering

Former IMG HC Bobby Acosta just became his HC at Del Valle.

2022 Ohio St WR commit, Caleb Burton was at Del Valle but he transferred to Lake Travis so James will be the man this fall.

LSU Football: Tigers should be the favorites to land 2023 4-star WR

by Zach Ragan

LSU football is one of several programs pursuing 2023 four-star wide receiver Braylon James.

And the Tigers should be the favorites to land him.

James, 6-foot-3/175 lbs from Del Valle, TX (Del Valle), is ranked in 247Sports’ composite rankings as the No. 17 wide receiver in the country and the No. 21 player in Texas.

He’s also ranked as the No. 126 overall player in the 2023 recruiting class.

Why LSU football should be the favorite to land Braylon James

James was offered by LSU last week. And it was an offer the Texas native has been waiting on.

“This is one I’ve been working for my whole life. Since the Les Miles days, I was always a huge fan of them,” said James to 247Sports this week.

One of the reasons James has been wanting an offer from the Tigers is because of his plethora of connections to LSU.

“Coach Orgeron’s uncle was my dad’s principal. So my dad knew him,” explained James. “My dad went to high school with Ja’Marr Chase’s dad and mom.

“Another (is) Tyrann Mathieu, we’re not related through blood, but through marriage, he’s my cousin or something like that,” added James.

LSU obviously has the upper hand in this battle, but the Tigers still have work to do.

James isn’t going to commit to the Tigers just because of his connections to the program. Ed Orgeron and his staff are still going to have to recruit him just like they would any other player.

247 lists him at 6'2" 175
On3 lists him at 6'3" 174
espn lists him 6'2" 175
Rivals lists him at 6'4" 185

Which isn't a huge deal, but if he's, in reality, 6'1 170, then it does start to matter.

Why? 6’1” is just fine. Plus, he’s 15/16 years old and is still growing.

Notre Dame has had plenty of giraffes at wide receiver that ran stiffer than a board. Give me all the 6 footers with some wiggle.

All the chatter has the feels of a pre-CB festival.

I will say, I thought his production was going to explode last year but it actually went down (per game). Will be interesting to see how he does on the camp circuit this spring/summer

Why what?

I don’t care how tall he is either, if he’s good.

But if people are trying to sell this kid as being 6’4” and he’s not close to that, it makes a difference. Football is absolutely a sport and livelihood where height and weight matter.

Dean Smith had a philosophy in coaching and recruiting that when all else is equal, go with the bigger guy. Everybody gets tired and everybody has 50/50 balls, so the bigger guy is ultimately going to make more plays than the smaller guy.

I’m not saying James isn’t worth getting or that he can’t be a great WR. But if he’s supposed to be big, and he’s not, then I hope his speed, hands, feet, routes, etc. are great.

i think the most likely answer is he is 6’2 and Rivals is just dumb.

He has good film and plays quality competition. Love to see his other measureables.

This does have an odd feel to it. So ger hasn't mentioned anything tangible yet, but could soon. Going to his HS this week.

If I were a recruit my one and only "profile" pic I'd let Rivals/247/etc. use would be me next to one of those height board.

And it'd 100% be skewed to make me look like a giant. Just to F with people.
