Ditto, I’ve only used bottled water in the coffee makers or electric tea kettle for the past 5 or 6 years…….they stay much cleaner with no scale and work flawlessly.RO/DI pure O ppm water can be bad for certain things. It can leach minerals from metals and act almost as a corrosive. It does nothing to plastics or glass and I keep zero water in large quantities in plastic trash cans for months before major aquarium water changes. Distilled water is no where close to that. Its generally going to take the natural ppm in around half. I have used dolgen distilled water in my keurigs. One is 8 years old the other is 5. If their instructions are telling you not to then the only reason I can fathom is they want the other types of water to mess up their product over time and make you buy more of them. I have never done anything to clean or maintain either one of my keurigs ever.
Also a brita or pur screw on to your faucet filter will do everything you needDitto, I’ve only used bottled water in the coffee makers or electric tea kettle for the past 5 or 6 years…….they stay much cleaner with no scale and work flawlessly.
Unfortunately the water here is laden with CaCO3 so those filters don’t remove enough of it to do the trick……at least that has been my experience. Also a brita or pur screw on to your faucet filter will do everything you need
That’s what she said…But rises again harder and stronger
That’s a great suggestion, I’m going to do a little research on that option! If your got a utility faucet you can make r/o water and store it in a bucker or empty gallon jugs. R/0 will get you down to 7-15 ppm
Your looking at around a $50 investment and if your only making a few gallons a week the original particle filter, carbon filter, and ro membrane will basically last your lifetime. That’s a great suggestion, I’m going to do a little research on that option!
I really appreciate the suggestion……only need 2 or 3 gallons per week, already looking into the equipment! I may just go with an under sink kit and I can install the faucet in the spot where the soap dispenser is located. You’re looking at around a $50 investment and if you’re only making a few gallons a week the original particle filter, carbon filter, and ro membrane will basically last your lifetime.
Are you implying that if Dante Moore decommits from Oregon he is coming here? Thus pushing Minchey to MSU?? Idk man, seems like a long shot.Sorry to get off-topic, but what are the odds that MSU falls ass-backwards into a 5-star QB if Oregon's OC takes the ASU job?
Who the hell cares? Get back on topic. Are you implying that if Dante Moore decommits from Oregon he is coming here? Thus pushing Minchey to MSU?? Idk man, seems like a long shot.

I used distilled in my older one. The one I have now is about three years old and has a filter in the water canister. We still have one of these and use it to brew the Columbian coffee our DnL and son bring to us.RO/DI pure O ppm water can be bad for certain things.
