Arnie was a regular there until his health didn't allow him to be anymore. I'm not entirely sure if he was the honorary golf pro at the CC, but he had some sort of title.
One day Big Ben showed up unannounced with three others (all non members), and asked the Pro Shop if he could get on.
The pro shop said they would need to get back to him.
Big Ben didn't take kind to this, and decided to head out to the first tee and basically start to play without permission.

The Pro Shop had no idea what to do, but the second that Arnie got wind of this he ran out to wherever Big Ben and his group was at the time and read them the riot act... and for all intensive purposes got them banned from ever stepping foot on club grounds again.

I had not thought about that story in a few years, so thanks for brining Laurel Valley CC back into my life.
