20-26 drew my attention right away. That's right in our spread range anyways.

I wouldn't be surprised if this is still a game at halftime; they will be fired up with the new staff and moving on from a terrible regime with Petrino.

That being said, too much talent all over the place for ND and I think they pull comfortably ahead by the 4th.

They're gonna cover the spread, and the backups are going to play almost the whole second half... they're gonna kill clock and let Phil J run the ball a bunch and throw it a bit on short, high-percentage stuff, keeping it from being a total mauling.

I also think the Louisville kids are going to be fired up to play for a coach that actually cares about them, which will sustain them for their first drive or two. They have an athletic QB that might create some 3rd down magic before Lea adjusts the defense.

We need to maul opponents like this and instill the fear in opponents that if it gets out of hand it could get ugly fast. We need to make opponents worry about getting their doors blown off more than staging a come back.

I went 20-26. I think our guys come out with something to prove to start the season. A veteran bunch that will relish this prime time opportunity.

I don't like that ND is down 3 of their top 5 pass catchers, but realistically it's hard to see the Louisville defense getting many stops. I think ND wins something like 38 - 17.

ND will play with the lead and defensive line will have their ears pinned back.

I chose the least likely scenario of winning by 35+ because I could see a scenario where we get up early, build a comfortable lead in the 3rd and bring in our 2nd team offense/defense and Phil hits some deep balls that further pad the lead.

I don't think our 2nd unit defense is much of a drop off so we shouldn't see them give up much.

Having said that, smart money would say we win by 10

I think the defense is going to shut UL down but the offense will disappoint slightly. I predict 4-5 turnovers forced by ND.

I would say 2 points for picking correctly ATS and 3 points for nailing the exact range (up to 5 total). I try to keep the ranges pretty consistent depending on whether the spread is large or small.
