I do wonder if part of the roadblock to moving Tyree to slot wasn't Tyree himself. We all know Tommy sometimes deferred too much to the player's wishes and maybe Tyree didn't want this move.

Rees was all diggs despite stats and eye test of estime being clearly better

Maybe after a certain point, but Diggs had some Did Not Play Coaches Decision in his stat bio last year.

Plus, I am not sure what your statement has to do with quoting my post indicating that maybe Tyree was holding Tyree back from moving to Slot...

I was just pointing out the handling of PT at rb last year…. no way tyree wanted that few of snaps.

Could be. Maybe Parker made him realize the more he's on the field the more opportunities he'll have.

call me crazy. but its very well known and established what Tyree can do as a RB.

Does he really need spring ball reps at a position hes done for 3 years? Would him getting those reps take away a more meaningful rep for someone else?

And vice versa - Could he benefit from additional reps in slot? Would him getting those reps be more meaningful or take away more meaningful reps for someone else?

I would imagine the staff sees it that Tyree getting slot reps in spring is far more beneficial to Tyree AND to the TEAM than him getting those reps in the backfield.

The staff needs to find more ways to get Tyree the ball. Rees failed to do that. With Estime, Diggs, and a healthy Price, the staff can afford to move Tyree to the slot.

Styles hasn’t shown anything to tell us that he has that spot locked down. Might as well put Tyree there to maybe light a fire under Styles’ ass.

Yeah should have been 2-1 IMO
You forget that Estime had some fumbling problems at the beginning of the year. When we wanted to put games away they put the ball in Diggs hands because he learned from the Fiesta Bowl a year prior. Estime had slightly better YPC over Diggs, yes, but often because Diggs was the one running the ball late in games, when defenses knew we were running clock. Look at the UNLV game. That was one of the games Estime lost the ball, and Diggs closed the game out with 16 runs in the last two possessions to put that one away. Twice Diggs got 6 carries in a row there and went on to have 28 total carries for 130 yards. UNLV knew it was coming, but couldn't stop us.

Both are great backs and they were used well last year. Estime runs through tackles better, Diggs is slightly more elusive.

Disagree on the elusive part but agree on fumbling.

That game is where diggs got a large chunk of his yards. Atrocious he only got 130 on 28 Carrie’s vs that defense. Estime gets 200 that game imho

Nah. They loaded the box knowing Diggs was getting it every carry. It didn't matter, we still drove down the field on both drives and we got TDs. Diggs had 822 yards rushing last year, and was only 20 yards off Estime in yards from scrimmage despite getting just 10 less touches. He did plenty of damage in other games outside of UNLV, go rewatch the film.

Diggs and Estime are a great pair of RBs. We’re fortunate to have them. What are we arguing about here?
I thought estime was clearly the better back other than fumbles (yes they are critical). Diggs had some huge runs, but estime was by far more consistent imo. Pass pro he was much better too. I don’t think diggs is bad, but I’d like to see estime punish teams more. But still keep him fresh
