Like the fact that Alford is his recruiter. If what he says about academics and the future are more than lip service we should be in good shape with him.

Here is the actual video of the interview. This is probably a good reminder of reasons to take articles about interviews with recruits with a grain of salt.

While the above summary is true, Kareem had really no other choice to answer the way he did. When Loy words a leading question, by basically saying do you want someone like Alford who is "real" with you or would you rather have a coach that strokes your ego. Sorry, no recruit is going to say the latter.

Second question was also very leading and basically Loy said would you rather go to a University that will challenge you academically or do you want to go to a football factory. Sorry again, no recruit is going to answer the latter.

Even though I believe he is very interested in ND, I'm far less excited about the above responses after seeing the interview.

they might not say "football factory" but plenty of recruits will commit to a school because "it's give them the best chance to get to to the next level" primarily.

Spoke with five-star running back Kareem Walker a few minutes ago.

He said that he spoke to Coach Alford following Notre Dame's win over LSU. He said he liked what he saw from the running backs and liked seeing them beat an SEC school.

Notre Dame is a major player here.
