Offered this past week and said we are at or near the top of his list.

It is important to note however that USC could be very close to offering and that is the one he really wants apparently. Chris Hawkins' dad coaches his 7v7 team I think.

Don't want now.

But seriously, wouldn't be mad if we got him.

This kid is blowing up big time. He was under the radar but with the ND offer, that's no longer the case. USC fans are pissed that they haven't offered yet.

But they suspect that will change at their camp (I think it's this week). It's assumed that he will show out and get that offer.

Then it becomes a real race, as USC will be a real player here, and he is REALLY high on ND. He's all about that degree everyone says they are...he sounds as if he means it; we'll see). USC, UCLA, and ND are all fine degrees, so we'll see if he digs deeper.

Anyway, this kid is the real deal and would be a great get.

Anyone really know a timeline on his decision? I am assuming that it will be well down the line with him blowing up as of recent.

For sure. Always nice to take kids out of SC's backyard, even if they haven't offered.

Mentioned ND as one of his standouts. UCLA was his leader but he hasn't talked to them in awhile. Still no USC offer but he camps this week. He likes that ND likes him as a deep threat. Also watch out for UW per Rivals

So much for that visit, announcing at The Opening per Scott Schraeder

Still no SC offer and Schraeder said he was supposed to know by yesterday.

Looks like UW. Eerily similar to Darrell Daniels from last year except USC did eventually offer but they were too late.

Wonder what's up w/ UCLA appearing to stop recruiting him and USC no offer. Also makes you wonder how much of a priority really he was to ND with them sitting so good with Holmes.

Barton Simmons on Erik Brown's decision:
With USC an unlikely destination at this point, my Crystal Ball has been changed to Washington for Brown but watch out for Notre Dame.

Chris Hawkins' dad on 247:
Stay tuned find out at the Opening either way whatever school he picks will be getting a good receiver with a tremendous upside. Notre Dame would love to get him I know that.

Would be pumped if he shocked everyone and picked ND w/o visiting.

Would be ****ing crazy if he picked us without visiting. Would also be a little bit of a strange move/red flag... but... #YOLO

Jay Hayes also committed w/out visiting, and he seems fine.
But, I know what you're saying, especially with the lack of actionable interest from UCLA/USC, you wonder what's going on here.

Quick question, if Brown surprisingly commits at the opening, would he take Holmes spot, or would ND take a WR class of Brent, Brown, Holmes, and McKenzie? I would be satisfied with that WR group, but I hope we leave a spot for Quick, feel like he would be great in the slot.

No, he would not take Holmes' spot.

Christian on ISD said we could take up to 5 depending on how everything goes. He specifically mentioned Quick, as you did, Sims, and Dupre as guys who would always have a spot in the class. That seems to suggest that a commitment from Brown would take the spot from Malone and *gasp* Lazard. Andrews could also lose a spot in your senario, but I'm not positive of that because of the flexibility he brings.
