Per Wiltfong, ND has been on Okereke for at least a month now if not longer. He is very academic focused (see offer list) and the only schools he doesn't have offers from he would consider are Duke & Notre Dame. Stanford just offered him at camp as a LB and it looks like they became his leader.

I very much enjoyed his highlights, versatile prospect: had his hand down, stand up outside the DE, & as a LB in a conventional 4-3.

Thanks for the profile STL. Very interested to see where we go with this kid. I too like his film. Needs to gain weight, what prospect doesn't (Elam) but very long and rangy. Another guy that could seemingly play a few positions.

The kid has got a burst. I definitely liked his highlights as well, STL. We seem to be after an awful lot of edge guys / CATs this cycle - doesn't appear from his highlights he has the build to play inside for us but who knows.

Wow. Smart family, he has sisters at Vanderbilt & USC according to Barton Simmons.

EDIT: and he said if it was up to his Dad, he would be going to Harvard.

I wonder if Bonner just took his spot, seems like he would likely pick Stanford over Notre Dame anyways though.

I really like his athleticism, when you say linebacker STL do you mean inside or outside. im going to assume outside.

Not sure which part you are referencing but the answer is probably outside

as a parent i would be hard pressed not to be influenced by that full ride to harvard for my kid either.

Victor Egu.

We were recruiting him for a while. Our class started to fill up, and he committed to Cal, then near NSD, he switched his commitment to Yale.

IMO, after last weekend if you asked the staff who the #1 CAT on the board is it would no longer be Williams. Carter has overtaken him. Haven't seen anything that has specifically said that but it seems pretty obvious. He seems like more of a fit. With that said Wiltfong this morning was pretty reassuring that the recent offers and interest are not a reflection of where we stand with our top prospects. The staff just really likes some of these other guys and feel we have room for all. TJ said that same thing at II this morning.

Boy, if we offer, and he accepts......the meltdown on the II board and BGI would be monumental, to say the least......

Possible ILB? From the films, he looks much more explosive than bonner. Just comparing cause someone said bonner could play inside.

Are you serious! This kid is a beast! Sign him up right now!

BTW he def is not playing inside. He is perfect for at the CAT position.

Problem is, Ivy League schools do not offer Football Scholarships. I'm 99.5% sure of this (and perhaps they don't do athletic sholarships at all).

Obviously the staff loves height at LB, does anyone know what the ideal weight they are looking for at ILB?

In the 250 range. I know that when kelly was asked about Manti loosing weight for the combine in order to have a faster 40 time Kelly said that he was plenty fast on the field and if he was still at ND there is no way he'd be playing under 250.

“@JHopkins247: ICYMI, 3-star Bobby Okereke is also committing this week, and #Stanford also looks in good shape with him.”

4 star LB Joey Alfieri is gonna commit there soon too

My middle school science teacher got an offer from Stanford and committed, then one from Harvard and switched to the Crimson and once he got on campus quit the football team because he was, well, at Harvard. Who cares about football when you're at Harvard haha

That's pretty awesome to be honest. Gotta be a great feeling.
