Now before everyone ask/ jumps all over me, I have not heard even a whisper about us being interested in this guy. As a matter of fact, I bet not many schools knew who he was a short time ago.

I don't think that will last for long after Mr. Spencer’s earth shattering 141.12 SPARQ rating at a recent Huston NFTC. That score is good for the 5th best SPARQ rating of all time, and the top score this year. Spencer’s shuttle and vertical are the top scores recorded this year, and his 40 is good for 2nd best. As of right now, ESPN combine results are reporting 14,832 participants in 13 cities including:

Honolulu, Philly, Miami, Orlando, Huston, Mobile, Charlotte, Atlanta, Massillon, Dallas, LA, Chicago and New York. This weekend’s Baltimore results have not been included just yet.

Someone please make sure I am seeing things correctly. It’s kind of hard to believe that a kid with ZERO offers is the nations leader in Speed, Power, Agility, Reaction and Quickness.

ESPNHS 2012 Nike Football SPARQ Combines 2012 Leaderboard - ESPNHS

Oh and last year’s stats in TX 4A ball - 6 interceptions, 12 breakups, 5 blocked kicks.

I feel like he would get more interest if he played Slot or RB.

Haha perfect. Good job finding this kid and making the profile.

I wasn't sure how to present the info the the board, I was just shocked at his combine numbers. I mean, that's a crap load of competition and to have had the top score? Those types of measurables and no one is looking at him? I understand numbers don't = field talent, but what little tape we have seems pretty legit to my untrained eye.

I'm not advocating we roll out the red carpet yet or anything, I just thought it was interesting that he had NO offers. Not even freaking LA Tech, who 247 has on his "interest" list.

He is 5'10". When making the profile originally I hit the 9 instead of the 0, so it originally read 5'-19". Clashmore corrected me (see above comment), and as a joke I fixed it to read 5'-1"+9".

So yeah, 1+9 = 10. I'll switch it now to prevent any further confusion.

Same high school as Tim Brown, Davey O'Brien, and Caroll Shelby.

Texas 4A is good competition, no?

lol ok, thanks, I was getting confused... a 5'10" WR with those numbers could easily fill the slot role for us. Hell, isnt Davonte Neal only 5'10"

When I first saw it, I thought he was 5'1" and I was like no way will he ever get an offer. But being 5'10" with those numbers should make schools like Oregon and Notre Dame at least interested!

I asked JC Shurburtt about him and he said he would look into him more to see why there seems to be little interest.

Niiice. Not saying this guy is going to be the next Jason Sehorn or anything, just surprised that no one has looked at him, at all, before his eye popping numbers.

NDFinSW here's looking at you, the Lobos need to fill out that roster!

I feel like I am the only one that is making a big deal out of this, but isn't any one else amazed that a no-offer kid is sitting at the top of the standings right now? With all the big name talent that must be at these Nike camps???

I want us to look at this kid as a DB. His tape is excellent. He plays against good competition and makes a lot of plays. He also has great closing speed (see tape).

There has to something going on for a kid like this to not have any offers. I'll be watching this thread for sure.

It could be a simple as this.
1. The kid is from Texas - No Texas offer
2. The kid is from Texas - No Texas offer

He could be a kid that just came into his own, late.

There are a lot of kids whose talent is well known that haven't been offered by Texas who are around Texas or were offered "late" by them.

I really like his game tape but isn't he a little short for what Kelly likes? Hopefully he grows

I am very amazed that this kid doesn't have a single offer, not even from some of the smaller TX schools. 4A competition in TX is some very good football. I live in a town that plays 4A. In fact, Jeremy Kerly from TCU graduated from my town's school. He was drafted last year. The problem is that there are so many elite players from TX that the ones that are just really good, don't always get looked at and schools outside of TX may see an instate kid not getting any offers and therefore, they don't bother looking at him. I hope he will pop up on Kelly's radar soon and maybe be able to camp at ND.

@Ryan_Graham3 Think he will need to get into summer camps and run those times & also work out at slot WR

(I had asked about Colin Spencer and why the little interest since his combine numbers and high school competition check out.)

Now has a KU offer in addition to an Opening invite. Could take off later in the process.

He is a white defensive back. He will need to accomplish way more than the average person to get props.

I don't give an ant's d!ck about what recruitniks think about this kid. He is a big time playmaker.

Unfortunately, I don't think that his will end up at Notre Dame. But that is our loss. We will wonder why we didn't jump all over this kid when he is a day one NFL draft pick.

Call me crazy if you will, but this kid plays on an elite level at the highest stage of high school football in the country. Whoever grabs this kid is getting the steal of the class.

He would be a five star if he wasn't white... there... I said it...

Just watched the video again. D@mn, is that some impressive stuff. He had a ton of pics and was a freak coming off the corner for kick blocking. Good stuff Colin.

And Wooly, you're not wrong on any account.
