Ben is Tight Ends coach in the NFL’s International Pathway Program basically coaching up a group of European and Aussie guys prepping them to compete for practice squad places on 32 NFL teams this year

Do these prospects have any potential?

Louis Rees-Zammit is probably the best known athlete in the group. He's a Welsh rugby player who would have been a regular starter in their national team. He's training to be a RB/WR probably in the mould of Aussie Jaryd Hayne who played for the 49ers in a few preseasons. All the Irish lads are specialists. NFL changed the rules now to allow all 32 teams to carry one international players on their practice squad so there's a lot more opportunities for these guys now to stick around on teams, get coaching and develop.

jaryd Hayne played regular season games for the 49ers as a running back (I actually think he was the starting RB in one game) and punt returner having never played American football before. He was an unbelievably good rugby league player. Probably the best attacking rugby / rugby league player of the last 30 years.
People should look up his 2009 NRL highlights.

Charlie Smyth, K has a workout with the Saints today. Been kicking 60 yards+ in practice. Another K, Mark Jackson has been kicking 70+
