ND has kept in touch with Pete for some time, but no official offer yet.

Polian and Powlus on their west coast tour stopped by to see Pete throw yesterday. Hopefully that solves whatever additional they needed to see from Pete and can extend an offer.

ND fans here in Cali have been clamoring for an offer to this kid for a long time. He's got the size and the arm strength, but for some reason not the long offer sheet. That will probably change shortly though. And with some of the ND targets at QB looking elsewhere, this offer will prob be coming soon...

Unfortunatley for Thomas, he had did not have a good showing at the Nike camp this year which is why he has not gotten the offers of other QB prospects. The Irish are interested but, have more stake in Hinder and Montana. The feeling is that hopefully one of those two will commit then they will offer Thomas in hopes of getting two QB's signed. seems like Cali is the go to state when Weis needs a QB. I like this kid would love to see him wearing the gold and blue

I think that the emphasis on the Nike camp is overrated after i scouted there. In Tallahassee, it was a bit of a disappointment and may be north Florida's worst year's ever. BTW, I will give you guys scouting reports if you want. I'm going to work for flavarsity.com soon (I already did the Nike camp, now I have to scout the jamborees), so I will know if any player has ND interest first. Unfortunately, Lo Wood couldn't make the camp, but is a virtual lock for ND. I have pics from the camp if anyone wants me to post them.

Whenever someone says a player is a lock i feel like you might jinx it. Besides that its nice to have some inside info on Florida players.

Yep, I'm not like SOMEONE (psst, ND=NC) and claim to have connections. I speak to Gene the Warchant guy, and Michael from flavarsity.com. I AM the insider. It's also fun to talk trash to the scout.com guys at the camps!

YES YES YES. Any info you have, any picks you have, by all means, PLEASE post. Especially in this dead period, any news and insight, especially from a scout's eye, is great to have. Thanks in advance bro...

One of the three schools to have offered Thomas, Maryland, recieved a commitment from QB Tyler Smith. Hopefully this means less competition for Thomas

After watching Thomas throw last week, Polian and powlus have worked out other Quarterbacks in the stateincluding, Chase Rettig out of Pasadena, Bryan Bennett from Crespi, and Jesse Scroggins from Lakewood. Seems like the Irish are dead set on signing two QB's this year

I just watched SoCal's videos he posted on 4/29. The Thomas sure has a nice touch and quick feet. He seems very well coached.

Funny, in the first video at 1:12, that is the EXACT play I first suggested ND should run in the "Notre Dame third and goal..." thread.

IrishInFl, by all means post away!

Not happening now. The pics were deleted. I could still give my first impressions though, but without pics, it's hard to show what I mean. The biggest thing that comes to mind is that the best player was a sophomore, and the only ND player offered a scholarship who was supposed to go, Lo Wood, didn't. The worst part was that my favorite player, #111, wasn't on the media list and nobody knew who he was. We had a coach go get his name, but he disappeared!

BTW, warchant.com has the best pics on the internets for the Tally camp because he was the only one allowed on one part of the field (even flavarsity.com was blocked, and they're a rivals site). My next scouting thingy is the spring and summer jamborees, in which I have no idea when they are. The off-season sucks!

Thomas to ASU

Thomas to ASU

Various services report Pete Thomas to ASU. He may pan out to be a fine college QB he has prototypical size but for some reason had trouble picking up offers from the big dogs. Offers included ASU, BC, CSU, UMD, NCS, and NW. Grades weren't the problem he as he had an offer from Harvard as well.

Missed the boat, again!

Missed the boat, again!

When will we learn that holding back an offer to an outstanding recruit is counterproductive. Thomas should have been offered a long time ago but I suspect he didn't get offered because we thought Montana was a lock. If we don't get Hendrix, we shouldn't select any qtrbk for '10.

I don't think the staff was ever going to offer Pete. Powlus saw he throw not long ago, but did not offer. There is a reason he does not offers pouring in. I trust this staff to offer quality, not quantity.

lol...at holding back an offer, maybe ND didn't think he was worth an offer. They have offered 6 QB's and Thomas' name was barely ever brought up to be in line to get an offer. ND staff went to his school and had him throw for them and still no offer. Maybe just maybe ND coaching staff knows more about QB's then you...oh and i guess every other BCS school blew it too by not offering.

Agreed. He might turn out to be a stud, who knows. But at this point, basically NO ONE was offering. And those that did offer took them back b/c others beat him to the punch while he kept waiting, and waiting, and waiting, for bigger offers that never came. So he jumped on the D1 offer he did have.

Now, IrishFL is not the only one to think. Plenty of ND fans wanted us to offer him. I never did get the love affair with him, because as has been stated, he was basically begging for big offers and still getting none. I'll trust the eyes of real football scouts like CW, Poodle, Sarkisian, Liar, Satan, etc, over guys like you and me. Ans like we all say, there's a reason the big boys didn't offer...

Too bad, i liked the kid, could turn out to be a good one. and no, ND did noot believe Montana was a lock. Thomas was not offered for a reason, maybe we will find out why in a few years. Still wish him the best of luck.
