I think that he more than likely knows about how CW uses tightends. Being the nephew of one of CW's players might help out a little, but not a great deal. Seeing how CW uses them is what sell kids.

Fauria's interest in ND may be enough to get him an offer shortly. There was some thought that he was a Colorado lock, and that may have been the reason why he had not been offered.

6'8 and 242? Dude is already built for college. He's even bigger than Rudolph. Imagine both Rudolph and Fauria in the red zone? That's gotta be a scary thought for safeties

Article mostly about his visit to Stanford and how much he loved it. You can tell he's turned off by SC's lack of interest in getting to know him and make him a priority. Near the end of the article it talks about his uncle and how he played for Weis....I think we'd be in his top 3 if offered for sure. The question remains though will we offer another 6'7 TE or wait for Blake Ayles who i like is SC's anyway.

IMO with Rudolph already in the fold they will be selective with the 2nd TE and will take this chnaces through the summer and early fall to get Ayles.

According to Scout, the anticipated ND offer to Joseph Fauria has been extended. There should be an Irish Eyes headline blurb appearing shortly to confirm the offer. If this is confirmed, it is more evidence of playing hardball this year. It is unlikely that ND will take more than 2 TE's in this years class, and with Fauria's offer, there are now 3 TE's with offers (Ayles, Moore, & Fauria) who have all expressed interest in varying degrees in Notre Dame. The first one to jump on the offer may be the only one to get through.

Very happy with this offer....I predict he commits to us..i don't know when but he will and it will be him and Rudolph as ND's TE's this recruiting class. Ayles was USC's anyway and i don't want to wait around just to lose him, Faurias film is great and his the same height as Rudolph. Fauria has known Crist forever and they are friends so having McDonald and Fauria in the mix would help with Crist just that much more.

Fauria is now also listed as an offer by Rivals and thus becomes the 58th member of the Irish Envy 2008 Official Offer List.

if we got him, imagine having 2 TE's that are 6-7. That is a redzone nightmare

I've heard from somewhere that he was recently measured at 6'9". Is that true? Please say no, because it would be very difficult for him to get low on blocking.

How bout moving him to OT?
Not when you have the hands that he has. The days of moving TE's to OT are over at ND, Weis is only going to bring in top TE's that can both block and receive plus they way ND's recruiting OL why make a player convert to the OL. Plus he wouldn't consider ND if they had a thought of moving him to OL.

He is tall and could be 6-9 according to football height. He was at the game and one recruit said he was 50/50 before the game. Another recruit said he was more then 50/50 for ND. I don't know if they knew something, but he was hanging around the other '08 ND recruits that have committed to ND. Once again a tall kid!!!

Wow! Can ND get 2/3 more this weekend or is that just being silly?

Awesome! Congratulations Joseph, and welcome to the ND family!

(P.S. I didn't see this one coming at all -- is that another consequence of not having a VC membership? Be honest ...)

Yeah, I saw him there. He was kind of hard to miss with his height and hair.

Maybe he's not in the same class of talent as Rudolph but not many are. He will be 4 star prospect and is in the current Rivals 250. He's the real deal and not a Charlie favor.

Not this time, I thought there would be a really good chance he might be Irish at some point, but not nesicarily this weekend. In the latest VC thread we did have an IM quote from Fleming that he would be commiting soon along with some info about a possible QB transfer though.

I figured we'd have a very good chance of landing him, but never this quick. He lists himself as 6'7 and he is very good you should watch his rivals video. Not many are as good as Rudolph for he might be the best TE in this class, but he has offers from LSU, ASU, Stanford, Nebraska, Oregon, UCLA and many others i cannot think of right now. Another big pickup, we are already half way done with our recruiting already. I guess this means good-bye to Blake Ayles, he was USC's anyway but still good enough to wait around for. I see the Dayne Crist connection problably had helped push him even closer to ND.
