The original six had different rules. There were territorial rights to junior hockey players. Anyone within a fifty mile radius of the city had to sign with that team. Obviously it gave the Habs and Leafs an enormous advantage.
Yup, the team will be ready for a top to bottom rebuild in ten years. Then another 5-10 years for the new culture to take over from A ball to the big club.

I think Benintendi is the largest contract in franchise history. He spends like his team is located in DeKalb instead of the third largest market. Fuck him and the Sox forever.
The last two seasons I gave the Oilers zero chance at winning, yet they went seven games last year and are right back again now.
