Without Belicheat, I'd take a healthy Manning over Brady every day. Put Manning on the Pats with Bellicheat and boom.

Peyton was obviously great (top 5 for me) but I recall too many big games, going back to college, where he struggled. That's the problem though with making your team QB centric and giving him all the offensive weapons. Great in the regular season but tough to win in the playoffs like that. Chiefs found that out again this year.

The argument that Brady has won only because of NE's D is laughable. Beyond his performance against the Eagles last year, go check his performances against the top ranked Seattle Legion of Boom #1 rated Defense (particularly in the 4th 1/4) 3 yrs. ago and his performance against The Falcons the following yr. How good was that Pats D allowing them to fall behind 28-3, requiring Brady to engineer the comeback? Has Brady benefited from playing under Belichick? Absolutely. Did Joe benefit from playing under Walsh? You bet your ass. As did Peyton from playing under Dungy. |
