How great would it be if it only had to be around 20-30%? We seem to have some good therapeutics available in Remedsevir, Imbruvica & Calquence that deal w/ the cytokine storm. I’ve read that budesonide via nebulizer has shown a benefit in treatment.

With more therapeutics, numerous vaccines in Phase III trials & hospitals understanding how to handle being overwhelmed, I feel hopeful. I also feel that we will see another pandemic in our lifetime that has a fatality rate that is much higher than COVID-19. We all know COVID is dangerous enough to lead to death or long-term complications but look how the country as a whole has panicked despite the low fatality rate and imagine a pandemic where the fatality rate is 5-10x that.
Have you read the side effects from these drug? Holy shit! I would rather deal with Covid than those drugs! Check out Leronlimab. Treats the cytokine storm, boosts the immunity, while reducing the viral load. Zero serious side effects in any study including their recent covid phase II mild/moderate study (64% reduction vs placebo in SAE's). Problem it is little bio and Fauci loves himself some Big Pharma!

Actually the cost is scarier than all of what you mentioned. Yes, unfortunately, when you have products treating cancer...specifically hematological cancer...there will be side effects. However, we need to wait and see what the data looks like when treating actual COVID-19 patients. Remember, the patients taking Imbruvica or Calquence are battling leukemia so I don’t think we can assume the same side effects (lymphocyctosis, infection, neutropenia, anemia) for a person battling COVID-19. Not saying there won’t be any Grade 3/4 AEs...there surely will be....but we need more data.

I’m not aware of Fauci having the final say on any of these currently approved biological as therapeutics for COVID. Looks like the jury is still out on leronlimab in treating HIV. Keep in mind that the other aforementioned biologics have all been FDA approved in their respective disease states (HIV, CLL, etc)

Michael Levitt has been shouting from the rooftops since March and April that he believes that herd immunity is closer to 20 to 30% based upon what he observed on the Princess Cruise Line and various countries. Some areas such as NY city can definitely be more based upon population density and other factors. Bottom line is herd immunity does not appear to require the 60 to 70% that the experts believed. As you and others have pointed out, the answer appears to be T cells which allows many people to have some level of natural resistance to catching COVID.

It is what it is.

My 401K and Roth IRA are going up like the amount of confirmed cases in my county. Mixed feelings about it. Like Lindsey Graham driving off a cliff in my brand new Ferrari.

Man that’s promising feedback. Where I have seen/heard the name Michael Levitt? To your/his point, Ive been hearing the same thing. Not that the sources have claimed this is definitive but it’s hopeful as the science evolves. Additionally, some believe that some folks simply have built-in immunity to COVID-19 as they had recently gotten over a cold before the pandemic exacerbated in the US.
