I'm an ultra guy. So, do a lot of running. Rollers are great. But from a stretching standpoint, ideally you want to hit all your major muscles as an imbalance in one could affect all the others (short/tight hamstrings limiting range of motion and placing a higher load on other muscles).

You also need a dynamic routine pre-run if you choose to stretch there and static/targeted stretches once cooled down or when not planning to be active in the near future.

There are some good routines on the interwebz. My advice on the ITB and piriformis would be pigeon pose variations and belted cross body stretch. Would be happy to help further if you'd like.

I’ve got a half marathon on Saturday. As this is a popular time for marathons was curious if anyone ran any this fall and how did it go.

I did one a few weeks ago in Southern Indiana and it went great. Race time temp was about 40 with no wind. The sun then came out and it felt great.
