1. Continually improving OLine (plus TE) play;
2. Continually improving RB play;
3. Continuing growth in trust in Kmet doing whatever's needed;
4. Continuing trust in Tremble;
5. WRs slowly sorting themselves out and running better routes;
6. Long calling more high percentage plays for Ian's skill set;
7. Ian shaking off his concerns about whether his teammates are doing their parts of the job, and letting fly, like we already have seen that he can do at highly advanced levels last year.

Phil Jurkovec looks to become a very high quality QB; so does Clark. This isn't about them. It's Ian, and he will get better and better as the team does around him. Unlike some of the QB conundrums we've had in the past, we have already seen Ian play at high level against high level opponents. There is no fundamental reason why Long and the Offense cannot find this sweet spot again.
Which of those 7 reasons will allow Book to miraculously see the middle of the field when it isn't his 1st read? Asking for a friend...

There is only one rational conclusion. He isnt very good when he needs to be.

Hes better than Wimbush, but Notre Dame qb's SHOULD be legit good at the quarterback position more often than not. We havent had a legit QB since Clausen and I'm getting annoyed.

Book was awful in most of those games. The opposing QBs did things/made perfect throws that were more than 7 yard wide outs. Book did little with his legs in those games but the rest of the offense did little to help as well. I think in the Virginia game Book has no excuse for not making any plays in the entire second half. Just wishing we had a QB equal to about 30+ other teams if not more. Can't understand why someone both at QB and RB has not wanted to come showcase their skills at ND? No bigger stage and visibility week in and week out.

Fyi, Book wouldn't make a Canadian football roster. With that said I do like him on the roster as a security blanket.

Agree we haven’t had a Heisman-candidate-level QB under Kelly, but Kizer was pretty good. He pressed too much in 2016 as things fell apart, but if he’d stayed for 2017 like he should have, I suspect he’d be right there with Quinn and Clausen among recent Notre Dame QBs.

This. Kizer 2015 was really good, and if we won in Austin in 2016 he would have had serious Heisman considerations after the way he balled out that night.

Then the team started 1-3, BVG etc. and the rest is history. Don't let 2016 ruin your memory of DK, he was solid. Best since Clausen

The real hurricane was the next year vs. NC State where we decided to call 30+ passes. Still the worst offensive game plan I've ever seen.
