But does he want to go to grad school too?

FYI, you can go to the NFL as a RS sophomore. As long as you've been in college for 3 years. Pretty sure Michael Crabtree was a RS SO when he left.

Well duh...the rule is 3 years out of high school. I just don't see him leaving that early without a degree.

Irishbounty28 09-10-2012 08:45 PM

I think a lot of this speculation can be put to bed if we show improvement on the field, and win games. If we show that we have the potential to be a "great" team next year, I believe that both Cierre and Irish Chocolate return. If we have a devastating end to this season, and take a step back as a program, then they both leave. Just my opinion.

Bogtrotter07 09-10-2012 08:51 PM

Chocolate of Ireland, that ain't no jive!

dublinirish 09-10-2012 09:43 PM

Seacláid Eireannach :)

NoJusticeNoPeace 09-10-2012 10:13 PM

He could easily go pro and be a very early pick. It just depends on whether he wants to finish 4 years or not.

WabashFalcon 09-10-2012 10:40 PM

He comes back for one more year. He'll leave with eligibility to burn.

I can guarantee this will happen.

He'll make it to RS Junior, and leave after that.

@IrishChocolate9: Relevant on the field or in the classroom? In a perfect world both but when it all comes down to it i choose the classroom.

Only a football player at Notre Dame would say that. I love it

Bogtrotter07 09-13-2012 09:53 AM

Now he is one of my most favorite Irish of all times!

Emcee77 09-13-2012 09:54 AM

Yep. And he looked great against Purdue.

AdmiralBackhand 09-13-2012 09:55 AM

He is definitely awesome. Speaking of awesome, I was hoping this bump was more Chocolate News.

RDU Irish 09-13-2012 11:03 AM

Watching the condensed game on YouTube heard Mayock refer to him as Irish Chocolate when he made a play to start the second half. Epic.

clashmore_mike 09-13-2012 11:32 AM

Big Lou will be the guest on BK's radio show tonight

"What's a classroom" - Maurice Clairborne and 50% of SEC athletes.

clashmore_mike 09-13-2012 07:39 PM

first question to Louis..."what's it like playing for Coach Kelly?"

"Well, sometime his face turns purple, but we don't pay much attention to that."

Bogtrotter07 09-13-2012 07:43 PM

Nolan shook his head smiling and Kelly loved it too!

loomis41973 09-13-2012 07:50 PM

Interesting comment.

I read that as: I go to a real school... so I don't have to stick to football as a career like other athletes at other schools...

Bogtrotter07 09-14-2012 07:36 AM

And you read it right ACamp. Picture Louis looking up at Kelly and Nolan and nodding his head as he said it.

Kelly also said something like (when talking about the maturation process) when Louis got here he was a handfull, and look at him now!

Nolan, is ready to take Louis on the road because so many people would pay to see it; Nolan as the straigh man, and Louis as Louis.

When he made the purple Kelly comment, Nolan said there was such a thing in this world as colateral, and maybe Nix wouldn't want to use all of his up, he may need it sometime before he was done.

Louis got pretty choked up with pride when he talked about his Mom being at last week's game. He mused that maybe that was why he played so well, and maybe she should be at more. Nolan jumped in with his hand raised and said no, it has to be legal nobody wants to see a line of private jets at the JAX airport.

Good stuff.

Since he demands a doulbe team now I think it is safe to say he is now four handfulls. (or is it hands full?)

Instead of bumping a number of player's threads for their interviews, how about you make a thread in 'ND football' or "Vs. Miami (since these pertain to the upcoming game) for interviews? Don't take this the wrong way, not trying to be a dick.

ndfi78 10-05-2012 11:25 AM

The player thread is exactly where they should go, IMO.

Luckylucci 10-05-2012 11:31 AM

On II's podcast they mentioned that they think Lou's shoulder might still be bothering him. Not trying to start any rumors. He'll be starting and all but they mentioned it so i thought i would here.

peoriairish 10-05-2012 11:54 AM

It's a football season. Everyone is going to have something hurting them. No news here.

Riddickulous 10-14-2012 12:05 AM

Haven't seen anyone block him yet. Nix is going to make a lot of money on Sundays. All teams, 3-4 and 4-3, should want a guy that size who is that strong and quick as well.

johnnykillz 10-14-2012 10:35 AM

He will be coming back next year, right?

Maybe, maybe not. I imagine he'll want to finish his degree. He'll have two years of eligibility left and if his draft grade comes back moderate-to-low it's hard to imagine him not using at least one of those years to finish his degree and improve his draft stock.

Right now I think he's playing at a 4th-5th round draft pick level but only getting better. Could be a second rounder by the end of the year. All I will say is that if he does go pro we look pretty stupid for not targeting another NG type player in the past class or this current one.

IrishSpartan 10-14-2012 10:54 AM

There was a thing with mcshay and kipper and they said they really liked him now I'm worried about our depth at ng

yankeeND 10-14-2012 11:03 AM

Hope big Lou stays at least one more year and gets his degree! I think he loves it here though and with the success they are having it should make his choice a little bit easier!
