Offered at OLB or SS. Buck Rover or John Lynch SS are all possible

Planned to make his decision at the end of the summer.

Bodie DeSilva who is dialed in with SD kids CB'd him to UDub. UDub likes him at Safety.

If you know who Troy Dye is, Turner is a lot like him.

    From Hawaii originally.

Had at least 3 INT's - all Pick 6's last season in 8 reported games.

Put on 10 lbs from camp season 2017 to 2018.

    Has a 38" Vertical. Ran a 4.24 shuttle. Didn't run the 40 this season, ran a 4.84 as a Soph.

Biggins and Huffman compared him to Jack Lamb but more athletic.

    MOST INTERESTING:

He wiped his entire Twitter account since Saturday when I last visited. The only thing on his account besides his ND tweets and retweets is his Polynesian Bowl retweet.

This could go from 0-100 real quick.

This looks like Zlatan's thicker, football-playing son.

NOW I know why he made the move to MLS.

Interestingly enough, Bill Rees gave Asa Turner a follow. I just thought it was interesting because Bill Rees only follows 4 2019 prospects on twitter...

          QB Graham Mertz
          RB Zonovan Knight
          OL Saleem Wormley
          LB Asa Turner

Well if ND is taking 2-3 guys, then maybe he would fit in as the number 3 option...

            SPOT 1 - Osita Ekwonu
            SPOT 2 - Nick Henrich

SPOT 3 - Maninoa Tufono, David Gbenda, Tristan Sinclair, Asa Turner, Spencer Lytle, Jack Kiser

I mean now is the time to evaluate and offer guys. Especially if you no one committed at the position. Ekwonu still has a round of OV's this summer to do and Henrich could be sold on the shiny new Huskers. Gotta have some contingency plans

              He's different.

Lytle is closest to his skill set but Lytle's a Buck/Rover vs a Rover-SS/Buck like Turner.

If you made me choose between him and Kiser, I'd take Turner. You give up some speed but gain length and a guy who plays WR on O vs a running QB in JK. He also plays much better comp year round.

Don't know anything about foreign football since Karl Heinz Granitza but what ND needs is a little Shark Style for the local Region Rats... Funny we'd have to import it from posh Carlsbad.

He's got straight up NWI dirty flow. Shark would so approve.

His film was good but I wasn't overly impressed. I would agree that he may be a bit better than Kiser given he could play ss. Didnt look that slow in film.

Similarly to offering Erick All, these personal eval offers probably just mean the kid can play. I’m honestly most comfortable with in-person evals that lead to offers above all else. I think Lea has earned the benefit of the doubt in regards to LB eval and development.

We call that a Dirty Salad or Sick Flow back round dees parts.

That being said, I like the versatility and film. Wonder if he will outgrow SS and be more of a rover guy.

Kiser has played safety his whole career and not a down as a linebacker. He is much faster than Turner

Four-star LB planning Notre Dame official visit for this weekend

A four-star linebacker, according to 247Sports, is expected to head to Notre Dame for an official visit this weekend.

According to a source, Asa Turner, a 6-4, 215-pounder from Carlsbad (Calif.) high school, is planning on heading to South Bend for his first official visit. Barring a change, things should be planned and locked in shortly.

Notre Dame extended a scholarship offer on May 21. The Fighting Irish joined an offer list that includes Arizona, Arizona State, Boise State, Michigan, Oregon, Oregon State, Utah, UCLA, USC, Washington and others.

Wide receivers coach DelVaughn Alexander was pushing early to get Turner offered and then following a visit from special teams coordinator Brian Polian and defensive coordinator Clark Lea, the decision to offer was a no-brainer. Since that point, both Polian and Lea have been pushing extremely hard for the west coast standout.

Turner recently spoke with Irish Illustrated’s Kevin Sinclair and shared some thoughts on the staff, his new offer, and where things stand.

“I don’t know much about (Notre Dame), but I know they have good academics, good football,” said Turner to Sinclair. “Also, I’ve never been out there, so I don’t really know what to think of it yet, but as of now and what I do know, it’s definitely a top school for me.

“Coach Lea, I like the way he coaches,” Turner continued. “The way he explained about how he’s a calmer coach, not a screamer. Also, they’re more than just football coaches. They want a relationship outside of football as far as knowing how things are going outside of football. So, I like that.”

As a junior, Turner impressed on both sides of the ball. He snagged three interceptions and returned all of them for a touchdown at safety and linebacker. On offense, he had 29 catches for 353 yards and four scores.

Turner is an impressive talent and one that multiple coaching staffs hard pushing hard for. He's extremely coveted by many big-time programs across the country and not just a backup plan. Turner is a guy who plays with a ton of confidence, aggression and has a nasty streak about him. According to a source connected to this recruitment, Turner is one of the hardest working players out west and one who "wants nothing more than to be great." Turner continued to get bigger, faster and stronger. He's very smart and has a high football IQ. His upside is through the roof and one with the potential to play multiple positions at the next level.

Per 247Sports, Turner is the No. 176 overall player nationally, No. 16 ranked athlete in the country and No. 22 prospect in California from the 2019 class.

According to the 247Sports Composite Rankings, Turner is listed as a three-star player, the No. 30-ranked athlete in the country and No. 45 recruit from California in the class of 2019.

Minnesota High School Hockey hair is my favourite thing on Youtube. I would love to watch the annual tournament on TV it sounds so amazing. There's a similar Rugby tournament in Ireland called the Leinster Cup and the hype/expectations on these kids every year is intense.

I'm really high on this kid. He's a luxury player but he's the sort of kid Boise State or the likes would have gotten when they were really rolling during the Pederson years and would have been highly productive for them. Reminds me of of a kid called Jeremy Ioane who BK recruited along with Kona Schwenke who ended up going to Boise despite a late late ND push

How does he remind you of Ioane? He's a composite 4-star that's about 4-5 inches taller and 25 lbs. heavier as a Sr. in highschool than Ioane was in college.

Jeremy Ioane has to be on the list of recruits that ND Forum Nation had a bone for that didn't come to South Bend. On a related note, he had to get a kidney transplant. I didn't realize his health issues had gotten that far along.

I could see him being a Zeke Motta type safety, a true Rover (but at this point, that could cause a serious log jam), or I can see him being a true linebacker if he's truly already 210 pounds.

If he was any other athlete, I'd say he was a future Buck but I think he could stick at Rover throughout. We always make jokes about who is our next Sua Cravens, well Sinclair is that level of athlete.

My gut says play him as a blitzing LB in subs and but it on Balis to get him to Drop size. I think he could get up to 240 quick and if he can, I think he's got the package to be very special.

Sinclair could be a river but as a.buck I think with added weight may lose some explosiveness. If Turner can play drop then I would take both.
