Who do you think you'll vote for in the presidential election? I'm asking because I honestly think Romney doesn't have a rat's chance in hell of winning. I'm going to attach a poll (hopefully I can make it private, so names aren't posted) So we don't have to get into a big political debate unless you like talking politics?

Please vote in the poll even if you don't care to comment....I'm curious to see your opinion.

    Thanks, BobD

IMO, it really doesn't matter much since neither side is desirable. The US is in need of a major financial overhaul and neither side has the balls to do it.

I am not one of those financial Armageddon types, but I will say that there are some serious issues that will severely test our resolve and we need real leaders in Washington and that is rare in DC these days.

Totally agree. I will be surprised if it makes it to tomorrow.

Is there a way to disable comments but still allow the votes? It would be interesting to know, but I have a feeling that this thread wont be here when I wake up tomorrow.

People cant help themselves but to be overbearing and rude when it comes to political discussion.

Ndaccoutant-I disagree, one candidate Ron Paul does have the balls to perform said over haul but both parties are afraid of him and refuse to give him his due with his good ideas. The Fed needs to be audited and many government agencies need to be cut.

I agree. I don't see a bright future for us on the path we're on. I'm curious about the election because I usually lean Republican and I coudn't even consider voting for Romney. Gut feeling: I think Obama wins in a land slide.

Agree, however he is one of the exceptions and he is not going to win or even be on the ballot most likely.....which is why I said it doesn't matter if it is Mitt or Obama....neither is what this country needs.

I agree. I don't see a bright future for us on the path we're on. I'm curious about the election because I usually lean Republican and I coudn't even consider voting for Romney. Gut feeling: I think Obama wins in a land slide.
I think he wins, but not in a land slide. I also think we may be looking at a R senate and house.

However, I think this could be a long summer for the economy which will not help Obama.

For many, the health of the economy trumps all. This alone means Romney has a very good chance of unseating Obama. I've heard that the outcome of 21 of the last 24 presidential elections could be predicted based on a simple model tracking unemployment/inflation/income growth, whether or not we're at war, and third party candidates. Romney, despite an inability to convince Americans he stands for much, could replace Obama simply because of good timing.

I respectfully disagree, I find testosterone has ruled foreign policy for too long, I dont believe in Peace through strength(military strenght). It almost blew up the world in the cold war.

Because by ignoring others, we abandon our long standing position which creates hate.

These countries who have grown accustomed to our crutch then come to hate us when we yank supplies and subsidence.

                                                      See Afghanistan.

Also we won't abandon the oil rich countries.

I'm not a fan, at all, of the military discussions he's had on the trail. I think they're largely to rally the base.

I'm also not a big fan of his immigration policy, but it's not the biggest issue this country faces.

If I'm going to trust a guy to bring efficiency to Washington DC and to turn the economy around, it's probably the guy with Romney's very impressive track record.

Obama is the worst President in my lifetime, which is saying something for how bad Bush II was. Obama is, to put it kindly, an amateur.

I can't trust Romney since he's flip-flopped so much and the whole "clean slate" thing or whatever the words he used to discount how far right he had to go during the primaries didn't help change that. Obama obviously hasn't kept all of his promises but at least 2nd term presidents don't have to worry about re-election. Romney isn't going to win. Unlike Reagan, Clinton, Bush, and Obama, the commonman can't relate to him since he's rich and Mormon. He's very bland and looks like a muppet. I don't like his business background and he feels like more of a politician than even Obama. I wish we lived in a country where intellectuals were making decisions, not people who have spent their whole lives trying to manipulate people.

I think the wealthiest of Americans can afford to pay what they were paying during the Clinton Admin. When we experienced record surpluses. The jobless rate would drop a great deal if the do nothing congress would pass the American Jobs Act.

I wish we lived in a country where intellectuals were making decisions, not people who have spent their whole lives trying to manipulate people.

We should have 1 6-year term and not 2 4-year terms. You don't have to worry about the president needing to run for re-election so less of the stupid politics game if there is one turn.
Lol. Voting for Obama because Romney flip-flops? Pot, meet kettle.

If the Supreme Court overturns Obamacare, will that help Romney? He supported his own version in MA. right?

Did Obama decide to support gay marriage publicly only once he was sure Romney would win the Republican nomination because the Democratic party believes Romney doesn't have a serious chance of beating Obama?

Basically, no.
