Florida Gators justice, Tennessee Volunteers jerseys and Georgia Bulldogs helmets hit The Dash - ESPN

That's it. I've had it. Bristol and all of ESPN have slid on their kneepads and are sucking the collective cock of Urban Meyer and Tim Tebow.

After brutally all but slicing the eyes out of a poor Georgia Running Back, ESPN states that Brandon Spikes being suspended for ONLY 30 minutes against the vaunted juggernaut is Vandy is appropriate "justice".

Gators coach Urban Meyer (4) reviewed the video and used it as a teaching moment. The lesson Meyer delivered: Nothing, not even thuggish behavior, will be allowed to substantively interfere with our pursuit of a repeat national title. That was the unmistakable message sent by Meyer's semisuspension of Spikes, which will keep him off the field for roughly 30 first-half snaps against mighty Vanderbilt on Saturday.

"Spikes' action reminded The Dash of a moment from the 2006 Colonial Athletic Association basketball tournament. Namely, when George Mason guard Tony Skinn groin-punched Hofstra's Loren Stokes.

Going after a guy's eyes is more serious because of the potential damage. But the two acts are similarly classless.

Eleventh-seeded George Mason bit the bullet, did the right thing and suspended Skinn for its first game of the NCAA tournament against No. 6 seed Michigan State. The Patriots wound up going to the Final Four.

Florida suspended Spikes for half a game against the worst team in the Southeastern Conference. In a word: weak."

Oh wait... I'm fucking shocked. They actually... actually made a good call.

He has to be disciplined because, well, he got caught. I'm not sure how many on this board played football and at what levels. Spikes claims that he was retaliating for similar tactics and I believe him and those doing the disciplining know what goes on on the field. Who knows who started the gouging, punching, poking, etc...

I have had the same things happen to me and they were always settled on the field, between myself and the guy who did it. I never once started it, but I would make sure that there wasn't a repeat offense.

The problem is that noting is really done about these things because they are considered "part of the game", like fighting in Hockey.

Not saying that this doesnt happen more often or that ND players have never done anything dirty but if your caught you should pay the price

              Florida players

With the camera angles and television coverage now available .... punches, kicks , bites, poking and other play to play nonsense becomes much more apparent to the public.
That said... you get caught you should be punished. What makes this that much different then the Oregon vs Boise punch? At least the punch was after the game and really should have been a legal action not a decision made by the Pac 10 and Oregon. Sit his ass a game.

No, FL did not suspend him...Spikes suspended himself for the whole game so as not to be a distraction to the team. Urban Liar had nothing to do with it (par for the course)...
