-The 17th ranked OLB coming out of Hopewell HS in Aliquippa, PA, he finished his Penn St career as a two-time Bednarik Award winner, All-American, and first-team All-Big Ten in 2005 and 2006. He also won the Butkus Award in 2005 and finished his career as Penn State’s all-time tackles leader. In 2005, Penn St was 11-1, Big Ten Champions, and won the Orange Bowl. After being selected 34th overall in the 2007 NFL Draft, he went on to finish his NFL career with 1,200+ tackles. He was also a Pro Bowl selection in 2013.

-Also the 17th ranked, but ILB, prospect, he only appeared in 26 games over three years after taking a freshman redshirt. He accumulated 7 tackles in his career at ND as mostly a special teams contributor highlighted by four tackles in the nine games he appeared in his senior year.

Agreed. I was on board with Hinish’s bro until his recent bday pic, which I can’t find now, with Kurt and he’s a good 2 inches shorter. Kurt is listed by ND as 6’ - 1 3/4”.

Then offer list investigating - just two power 5 - ND and Pitt for him while Kurt had 16 power 5 including SEC (Miss, SC, Vandy, Tenn), Big 10, Big 12, and ACC offers. If they take a second DT besides Lucas - Curry (top 100 player) or Artis (Auburn, FSU, Texas, Tenn, A&M, Wisc offers) are 6’5” supposedly but overall much better prospects.

They seemingly have cooled on Miles too. Interesting how the board has turned over at this position with the position coach remaining. Wonder if it’s more or less Freeman? 4 DEs and 2 DTs would be a huge haul in addition to likely 4 LBs and 4 DBs when the offense appears set for 2 RBs, 2 TEs, 3 WR, at least 4 OL, and QB. Idk how they fit 14 on D and 12 on O so a 2nd DT is likely the first position I would cut followed by TE but all signs point to another commit there.

Dan basically broke his neck at the end of his high school career and played with it without realizing. He was never the same after that.

Agree in theory but that's more about having able bodies than just more bodies. We can create depth without bringing in 7 DE's in 2 classes. It's a 3 deep, +1 over 2 cycles. Very excessive. i think the approach right now is strike while the iron is hot but something has got to give somewhere. Either roster attrition or future classes.
