  • 30 for 30: June 17, 1994

    (SI.com)

Yesterday was the anniversary of the infamous O.J. Simpson Bronco chase. This week ESPN ran a great 30 for 30 documentary on that crazy day, June 17, 1994. The documentary was directed by Brett Morgen (The Kid Stays in the Picture). Morgen is also a giant USC fan.

There are two things that stand out from the doc. The music is fantastic and really sets the mood. The other fascinating thing is that throughout the entire documentary, there are no interviews. Morgen does an awesome job of showing everything that was going on in the world of sports, detailing the events that led up to the chase and the chase itself. Seeing the chase again and hearing a hostage negotiator talk O.J. out of killing himself is unbelievable.

June 17, 1994 was also a busy day in the sports world. You had game 5 of the NBA finals, the Rangers celebrating a Stanley Cup championship, Arnold Palmer?s last U.S. Open, the start of the World Cup in the U.S and a looming MLB strike.

I am sure EPSN will run the doc again this weekend, so bust out your TV guide and hopefully you can get a chance to TIVO and watch.

    Here is a preview:

I was worried after last Sunday we would have to wait on another good series. Lance Armstrong picking up the pieces....

    <blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">&quot;The first time you ever doped, how old were you?&quot;<br><br>LANCE, Part 1 premieres tonight at 9 PM ET on ESPN. <a href="https://t.co/VrjM5054oy">pic.twitter.com/VrjM5054oy</a></p>&mdash; 30 for 30 (@30for30) <a href="https://twitter.com/30for30/status/1264570759185399809?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">May 24, 2020</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

I'm always wrong. I'll correct myself If proven so.
