My favorite stat was that he reached 4 super bowls with 4 different Head Coaches.

Dude is an American sports legend. Pretty much universally admired and loved outside of maybe New England? Don't see that too often with really elite sports figures it seems like.
Only thing I've ever heard from his "haters" was his record in January.

Happy for him that he got to end with a win.

anyone think cam was saying peyton was taking HGH?

H1GH and HiGH

And I admittedly am getting older and out of the slang most likely but gagging? No thanks on using that one in the future.

haha I noticed that right away. I don't follow Cam on social media. Maybe he always writes like that. I'd guess it was just a coincidence. He's been pretty effusive in his praise of Peyton.

I always knew this day would come but I didn't think it would effect me like it has. I really enjoyed watching PM play the game the way he did. He gave it his all every time he stepped on the field and there aren't many players that can say that. The greatest thing about PM in my eyes is what he has done for the city of Indianapolis with all his charity work and contributions to the community while he was here.

I will leave you with this last story and it by far is the greatest reason, when I was starting out my military career at 19 years old I was flying out of the airport at Indy to go over seas to Japan and be away from my family for the first time. As I struggled coping with the reality that I would be away from my mother and brother for a long period of time and getting ready to say my good byes my mother says hey that looks like Peyton Manning let's go and say hi. Well we went up to him and in true Peyton Manning fashion he stopped what he was doing and said hello, signed an autograph and also took the time to ask why we were at the airport and thanked me for my service.

Thank you Peyton Manning there will never be another one like you! Glad that I was able to grow up watching one of the greatest of all time!

What was so great about Manning, was you just knew the Colts were going to win even if they trailed in the last few minutes. I don't have any numbers, but I would guess his game winning drives in the last few minutes far exceed his failures to complete a game winning drive.

The way he saw the game and controlled it is remarkable. It will be a long time before we see another like him.

DeAngelo Williams on Peyton: 'He was garbage last year' (http://espn.go.com/video/clip?id=14926063&ex_cid=sportscenterFB&sf22155544=1)

Remember when Deangelo Williams had a Hall of Fame career?

If not, that's because it never happened.

Agree. There were times in his career that he was virtually unstopable. Master at reading defenses, picking up blitzes, and finding the hot receiver. I was a big Marvin Harrison fan as SU was the other team I followed.

Peyton was for all intents and purposes garbage last year. I didn't even realize how bad his stats were until recent (YIKES). But he is definitely a top 3 QB in terms of career, I think.

Williams didn't really say anything in his tweet that was wrong (didn't listen to the video), but it might have been a bit more respectful to not try and roast Peyton right after he officially retires.
