Bucs Sign Garcia, Aquire Rights to Plummer

It's Official, AJ Feeley is now the Eagles backup if McNabb gets hurt again. The funny thing was that the camera was showing Donovan stuffing his mouth when ESPN made this announcement on their ticker during the Nova-Syracuse basketabll game. Donovan looks like he has been eating a lot of Chunky soup during his rehab, but I am sure when he is ready to get back on the field that he will be back in great physical shape.

Man I'm on night shift so this is the first I'm finding out about this. I do trust our Front Office but look at Culpepper this past year and McNabb has been hurt what 2 out of the last 3 year or maybe 3 out of the last 4 I forget. To make my point I think we should have tried to keep him. I don't know if AJ is a good QB or not, but I have a feeling we are going to see him more than we choose to this next year. I don't doubt that McNabb is working his ass off to be back and the workouts those guys do he can stuff his face once in a while. I'm not worried about that. DMac has his heart in Philly and the Eagles and I know he will do everything in his power to be back to 100%

Now my question is who do we draft. I would love to sign Porter at LB, that would be huge even though people say that he doens't fit our 4-3 that JJ runs but F that, he is a player and any player can make plays no matter what scheme they run. I would also like to get a SS, maybe that fella out of texas, I forget his name right now.

Glad to see fellow birds on board.

I'm with you, despite all the heat he takes, McNabb has had a great career and is a class act who has always been a tribute to the Eagles organization. The constant injuries do worry me a lot, and I am not comfortable with AJ as the backup. He had a great run when DMac and Koy D. went down a few years ago, but that Eagles team was much better defensively than the current squad. However, it was inevitable that Garcia was going to take advantage of how he finished last season to try to get a real shot at a starting QB position, and being the competitor that he is, who can blame him. We will just have to hope that Donovan holds up next year because with Westbrook coming into his prime, and Reggie Brown and the rest of the young wide outs constantly improving, the Eagles offense with a healthy McNabb is probably going to be the best in the NFC.

As for recruiting and the signing of free agents, I am very concerned that Andy's leave of absence is going to have a detrimental effect on both of those processes. I hope I am wrong. Here is the latest free agency update from the Eagles web site if you have not seen it. Fly Eagles Fly!!!

I live in the philly area, but, I'm originaly from NE so, that explains why I'm not a big Eagle fan.
I think Andy Reid was really just looking to stay away from the whole QB controversy. Because the thing I don't get, is that Jeff Garcia has been saying that the Eagles never really tried to negotiate a contract out with him. I really think Garcia would have stayed if the Eagles wanted him. But thats just what I think.
hey, the phillies look like they should be better this year

I really hope that Bloom works out at kick and punt returner. I think all of us know he won't be a true WR in this league. I really hope that Bunk works out this season for us too. Have you guys heard anything about Kearse?

Stalking Eagle- I hate to be the one that keeps on posting bad news but if you have not seen it yet, the Eagles have lost Donte Stallworth to the Patriots.

http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news;_ylt=AlYu_KxVx5BVwDLWcB3KDWT.uLYF?slug=ap-patriots-stallworth&prov=ap&type=lgns

This on top of losing Michael Lewis to the 49ers, and Roderick Hood to the Cardinals did not make for a good weekend for the Eagles or their fans. I wish Andy Reid would come back from his LOA, I have to believe that his personal intervention might have helped to prevent some of these defections.

The Philadelphia Eagles (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/clubhouse?team=phi) strengthened an already deep defensive tackle corps late Tuesday, reaching a contract agreement with unrestricted free agent Montae Reagor (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/players/profile?statsId=4708), who missed most of the 2006 after an October automobile accident.
An eight-year veteran, Reagor was released by the Indianapolis Colts (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/clubhouse?team=ind) earlier this month in part for salary cap reasons and also because the team was uncertain of his recovery. Reagor, 29, had played the past four seasons in Indianapolis after spending four years in Denver.

Reagor

Reagor, who visited with Philadelphia officials on Tuesday and apparently passed a physical examination, will sign a three-year, $8.3 million contract. He will join a defensive tackle contingent that already includes starters Mike Patterson (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/players/profile?statsId=7207) and Darwin Walker (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/players/profile?statsId=5100) and backups Sam Rayburn (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/players/profile?statsId=6658) and Brodrick Bunkley (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/players/profile?statsId=7763).
It is unlikely the Eagles can carry that many tackles on their roster during the season, so the addition of Reagor could result in another move.
A starter in each of his three previous seasons with the Colts, Reagor suffered facial and head injuries in one-vehicle accident on Oct. 22, just hours before Indianapolis' home game against the Washington Redskins (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/clubhouse?team=was). He underwent surgery and, while the initial hope was that Reagor might return late in the season, the severity of his injuries precluded that.
The Colts placed Reagor on the non-football injury list in November, ending his season. He finished the year having appeared in five games and registering 10 tackles and one sack. He began visiting the team's complex late in the season and accompanied the club for all of its postseason games, including Super Bowl XLI, but was ineligible for the playoffs.
Even after the Colts released Reagor, there was speculation the team would re-sign him to a lesser contract, but that wasn't the case.
The former Texas Tech standout does not possess great bulk but is stronger than his size (6-feet-3, 285 pounds), and his quickness should fit well with the Philadelphia scheme. Reagor has 213 tackles, 16 sacks, four forced fumbles and seven recoveries.
Originally a second-round pick of the Broncos in the 1999 draft, he played four seasons in Denver, mostly as a backup, and then signed with the Colts as an unrestricted free agent in 2003. Reagor has appeared in 92 games and started 46 of them.

This is great and all but I want some LB's.

Andy Reid is back! Reid returned yesterday from a self-imposed LOA to deal with family issues. The six week period of Reid's absence was not a particularly auspicious time for the Eagles personell wise. Andy was slated to return about now to help the team prepare for the upcoming NFL Draft.

Stalking Eagle, your wish has been granted. The Eagles picked up Pro Bowl LB Takeo Spikes and QB Kelly Holcomb from the Bills for Darwin Walker and a Draft Pick. Finally some good news & IMO a great trade. Walker had some moments for the Eagles, but was never very consistent, and seemed incapable of going the full 60 minutes. The Eagles have all sorts of D-Line depth so Darwin was expendable and they also pick up a reliable backup QB to somewhat fill the void of Jeff Garcia's departure. A WIN WIN trade.

Andy comes back and almost immediately good things happen.

Here is the link to the Yahoo Sports story on the trade:

Thanks buddy I just saw that too and headed in here to report to you. I agree with Walker he had moments but he couldn't go a whole game. I like the trade looks good to me.

McNabb is looking excellent all things considered. Avant, Baskett and Curtis are looking great too catching everything that comes their way. MJG is getting in fights with everyone, he has a nice tude this year. Defense is going to be determined on the play of our DTs.

Ouch, Iggles lose AGAIN! Dead last in the NFC east staring up at the glorious arses of the true class of the NFC. It's been a while, but Da BOYS are back where they belong. Funniest thing is...we're doing it with a guy you couldnt handle. If you had just given him his money, this could be you...As it is, the Cowboys are going back to the Super Bowl this year.

That RT Winston Justice is absolutely overmatched. Good grief. Number 72 was three steps behind him before he even looked to get out of his stance??? 12 sacks? That's Madden 08 numbers...

Yeah, Uminyura made the Eagle's tackle look absolutely stupid. I cant wait till D-ware and Ellis get a chance at that. Remember, Umi is coming off an injury he sustained in the Cowboy game. Imagine a fully healthy DE that has 10x the talent as he does going up against the Philly line!
