Friday Night Lights update, Part II
Here’s a rundown of how Notre Dame’s primary remaining recruiting targets for 2008 fared in their high school games this past weekend (the current commits were covered yesterday):
- Jonathan Baldwin was held to 17 yards receiving, and his Aliquippa (Penn.) team lost to Beaver, 7-6, to fall to 4-2 on the season.
- Cyrus Gray’s DeSoto (Tex.) team suffered a 43-13 blowout loss to Gardner, as they fell to 4-2 on the season.
- Michael Floyd caught nine passes for 194 yards and three touchdowns, including a 54-yarder on the first play from scrimmage of the second half, and also had a twelve-yard run for a touchdown, as his Cretin-Derham Hall (Minn.) team pulled it together in the second half to defeat White Bear Lake, 55-17. Cretin-Derham is now 6-0 on the season.
- Ryan Williams’s Stonewall Jackson (Va.) team suffered a 26-0 shutout loss to Liberty, to fall to 3-2 on the season.
- Chris Harper rushed 13 times for 56 yards and a 20-yard touchdown and completed three passes for 21 yards as his Wichita Northwest (Kans.) team defeated Garden City, 20-12.
- Kenneth Page’s A.C. Flora (S.C.) team lost to Fairfield Central, 30-3.
- And Trevor Robinson’s Elkhorn (Neb.) team moved to 6-0 on the season with a 49-13 defeat of Blair.
That’s all for now! I’ll be back later today with some analysis of some pretty significant changes to ND’s depth chart.
