The kid has nasty stuff. Whats even more impressive is that Pinella already thinks so highly of the kid to put him in two games where the Cubs were not winning or losing by a big margin, especially during a tightening pennant race.

The Shark's future is in the bullpen. He still hasn't been able to develop his secondary stuff enough to start. The good news is that he can be a strong MLB reliever with that nasty sinking 2 seamer and 97 plus 4 seamer.

I disagree, i think the Cubs definitely want him as a starter.

I was definitely surprised to see him come up, especially after only starting a couple games at AAA Iowa, but so pumped to see him play again! I think with those 99 mph fastballs he was throwing that they'll definitely try to get him into a starting role eventually, but maybe not until next season.

That was the same argument with Joba. Good pitching coaches work their magic and turn guys with electric stuff into quality starters.

He would fill out the rotation if they put him there in '09. I am pumped that we have another arm in the open that can bring the heat! I happen to be going up for the 8/2 game and I hope they have his jersey shirts ready by then!
