Hossa saw the writing on the wall, players in Pitts don't like playing with Crosby, they don't like the coach, and Hossa saw that a lot of talent was leaving. I think it speaks volumes that even after Sid the Kid called Hossa repeatedly the morning he decided to leave Pittsburgh, he still left because deep down he saw Detroit's defense manhandle Pittsburgh like no other defense in the league, and he loves that Zetty and Pav play the two way game of getting back on defense. I know there are a ton of Pens fans here and I'm sorry, not trying to start anything... but for once I would like to meet a real Pittsburgh fan who does not have the homer glasses on and can understand that Pitts is a very young team, I don't think they will make the finals next year based on their talent level at this point, and I'm not even sure Detroit will either... but Detroit dominated that series, and Hossa above the rest understood that the most. |

NO ONE did... so Pitt gets hammered for losing in the finals?? They lost Hossa!!! A player that has never in his career, this year included proven he can contribute when it counts. Total stat line player. BTW, one who scores nearly as much on the back end as he does on the front. The guy is Sandis Ozolinsh at the forword position at times. What else could possibly be seen as a negative reduction in talent?? You said yourself they are stupid young, that's a good thing for the future not a bad thing. Three of the key five are already locked up and we'll see what happens with Geno. I'm a hockey fan, I know you could have the Canadian National team and you are not a lock for the second round when it comes to the Stanley Cup Playoffs... The odds that either Pitt OR the Wings make it back are much lower than the two finalists in any of the other major sport IMO... Doesn't mean Pens fans can't be happy about the year they just had... Can't you just enjoy your cup? that's my two cents

I have always said that the young talent level on Pittsburgh is scary, but keeping it will be hard. I really do hope to see a re-match next year in the finals, but it's next to impossible for both teams to crank it through again next year. Anyways, sorry for my rant, and Acamp is right, I should just enjoy the past season and not be concerned with the future at the moment, sorry guys. |

You are dead wrong about people dont like playing with Crosby, I dont know if you just made that up or have some awful sources. I have heard the whole they hate the head coach thing but i dont buy it, if that is true then why did malkin and orpik just take less to play here No one in the East is better than the pens, so we will probably see you in the finals next year where you will probably win in 6 games or less. Stop making stuff up, saying things like what you have said make people hate the team you like regardless of who it is. Its just obnoxious. |

There was an article on ESPN a while back that did hint at the fact that some players do not enjoy playing with Crosby, personally I think that can be linked to the same as Clausen, a young person who is taking on a huge role and the older guys have trouble looking up to him. Second off, the coach rumors are true, also documented at ESPN, but it wasn't the whole team (same as Crosby rumors). Some guys, such as Malone, had a problem with Thieren and decided to leave. I think it is remarkable you signed Malkin at that price, although that didn't happen until Hossa was gone (makes you wonder). I am not trying to be obnoxious at all, I am a very level-headed hockey fan, I just love the sport over any other and respect so many parts of it, I think it is really the only sport where someone will push away money in order to win it all (you don't find that too much in other sports). |

Those guys don't mix well at times with the modern "pamper me" jocks. Obviously the results are hard to argue with, but it's no secret that some, Brooks O. included (who took less money to stay) don't like coach T that much. IF the Pens can resign Malone (which may be unlikey) and Geno doesn't bolt for the homeland (which also is highly unlikely)... the Pens will be the easy fav for the East next year... but that doesn't mean much come playoff time. The Crosby thing may have some legs only due to his age... Tgier Woods, LeBron James, and Jimmy have all felt it a bit... it goes away with time, and has absolutely NOTHING to so with the kids playing style.
