Disorderly Conduct Charges Against Ricky Seals-Jones Dropped
16 hours ago
Freshman wide receiver Ricky Seals-Jones was arrested in the spring on disorderly conduct charges after a dispute at North Gate. Today, the former Army All-American had those charges dismissed, Brent Zwerneman reports.

Seals-Jones' attorney Cameron Reynolds told the Houston Chronicle, “He’s ready to put this behind him and keep focusing on football."

Seals-Jones was a five-star, ranked No. 25 overall in the 2013 247Sports Composite. He has eight catches for 112 yards and two touchdowns through two games this season.

Don't forget the school part there, Mr. attorney. “He’s ready to put this behind him and keep focusing on football and playing school."

Mississippi St goes from unranked to to 15? Because they beat another overated SEC team? When does it happen that everyone realizes the SEC is mediocre this year?

What did LSU drop to? The way I see it is teams had a chance to really screw up the SEC perception and failed. Wisconsin being one and if ECU could have beat SC, those two would have been huge. Kansas State would have really thrown things into a spiral.

Now it looks like Mizzou needs to upset someone, SC needs to upset another, Kentucky take a game and then have SEC fall in bowls. At this point I think only the SEC champ is in the Playoff. Again...AT THIS POINT. That is a great thing. If they win the payoff with only one team in, everything is solidified.

I hate the SEC as much as the next guy but when outsiders get a chance, the SEC seems to pull one out. Sucks but respect has been earned.

Mediocre? Uh...depends how you feel about every other conference. Probably a bit of an overstatement. The SEC is definitely not as strong as many people think, but it's still a top 2-3 conference. And frankly, it's pretty pathetic how people believe certain members of the media when they hype up the SEC as the greatest thing ever. Especially when the numbers suggest otherwise. Just think for yourselves. It's really not that hard. However, the SEC is 5-2 against other "Power 5" conferences, and I believe that the Big XII is only 4-6. So, you could make the case that it is one of the 2 best conferences.

I disagree with MSU going from unranked to #15, largely because I felt that LSU was overrated because of their youth and inexperience. This has happened before, though. Even outside of the SEC. Did you feel the same way in 2005 when ND went from unranked to #12 after beating Pitt, who went on to have a losing season, and a very inconsistent Michigan team (a game where star RB Mike Hart got injured early in the first half)?

We went to #20 after week one, and then #10 after beating a highly touted Michigan team. Hindsight is 20-20 but no one will say the same of Mississippi St. Lost to MSU by 3 points, lost to USC by 3 points and tOSU by 14 in the bowl game.

SEC homerism at its finest here. Oh MSU just beat LSU and MSU isn't ranked? Well lets fix that, bump them up, give LSU a small bump down and voila! 8 SEC teams in the top 25.
