I figured the SEC would come out and say Murray deserved the hit for almost upsetting the beloved Tide.

Murray just having the thought in his brain that it was a possibly of beating the Tide is wrong. He totally got what was coming to him.

While none of us thought it was likely... The SEC has stated they will not suspend Dial.

Alabama is now the only entity available to suspend Dial and that is about as likely as a snow shower Miami.

Saban: "We won't suspend you if you promise never to do it again"

Dial: "Okay coach I won't" (wink)

Saban: "Alright if anyone ask you tell them I yelled at you and really hurt your feelings and that you know that hit was unaccaptable. Understand?"

Dial: "Yes sir coach"

(They shake hands and Dial walks out of the office)

This isn't the NFL. You all know that. In college the QB becomes any regular player after a turnover. There is NO special protection for him, unlike the NFL who has put special rules in place.

All potential dirty hits are reviewed after the weekends games. Regardless of who gets hit. So the SEC looked at this, and treated it no differently than a WR putting a wicked block on a LB. To my knowledge they have not suspended any players for blocks this year.
